The dating game changes dramatically each decade of our lives.
When you were 17, your biggest love issue was who would look cutest in your prom pictures. You probably thought that you were in true love a couple of times in your 20s. The relationship stakes when you are in your 30s are on a whole different level. Now you're not only thinking, can this guy consistently make a mortgage payment but you may also wonder is he husband material and a future baby daddy?
We all make mistakes when it comes to love, sex, dating and relationships. Some of us, however, make more mistakes than others. Here are two ways to pick up your love game in your dirty 30s.
Are you avoiding older men?
When we're in our early 30s we have fond memories of the hot bodies of our favorite 20-something year old men. You may also be reminiscing fondly about the rock hard abs and the tireless stamina. Yes, men in their twenties are divine physical creatures to be sure but there is something to be gained by dating older versus dating younger.
No one is saying that you have to get all grandpa-crazy and look for your own personal octogenarian like Hugh Hefner. However, we'd be remiss if we didn't point out the advantages of dating 40-something men. A man in his 40s will be more mature and established than the guys you usually date. At that age someone else should have already housebroken him.
The guys you dated in their twenties were still wet behind their ears. An older gentleman should be a full fledged man, and dating a grown man has its privileges. He will be more confident in himself and skilled in the bedroom as well. Enjoy.
Do you realize how young you really are?
Haven't you heard? Thirty-five is the new 25. And even if it wasn't you are as young today as you will ever be. Stop brooding about the things that you haven't accomplished and the woe is me love mishaps. All of the big milestones are not behind you, trust us. Live your life.
When you approach relationships as if you are an old person your energy is stagnant and tired. This is a mortal dating mistake. Who wants to be around that? Any guy will tire of you very quickly if you don't relax and enjoy the youth that you have still in you.
This is the time to live it up.
