    4 summer makeup swaps

When the weather becomes consistently hot, it's time to make some changes to the type of makeup your wear. Hotter weather means light colors and new trends. Swapping a few items in your makeup bag will help you look gorgeous this summer. Here are four summer makeup swaps you should make.

Matte lipstick for sheer lip stain

Matte lipstick sure looks beautiful and dramatic in the fall and winter, but it is a bit too harsh for summer. In the summer, you will want to stick with more sheer lip products like lip stains. A lip stain will still give your lips a brighter color, but it will look more sheer. Try a baby pink, peach or light red lip stain.

    Foundation for tinted moisturizer

Foundation is definitely something you want to stay away from during the summer months. It will feel like it is melting off your face during hot and humid weather. If you absolutely have to wear something on your face, try tinted moisturizer. It will not feel nearly as heavy on your skin and takes less time to apply.

    Blush for bronzer

You can still wear blush in the summertime, but bronzer is much quicker to apply and can give your skin a sun-kissed glow. Make sure to pick a golden bronzer that is not too dark for your skin tone and sweep it along areas where the sun would naturally hit.

Dark nail polish for light nail polish

It is time to put away those plum, dark red and gray nail polishes and opt for lighter colors like pale pink, sky blue, mint green and pastel purple. Even brighter colors like orange and hot pink will look hot this summer. Wearing lighter and brighter nail polish colors can really brighten your complexion.

If you make these easy makeup swaps, you will look absolutely fabulous this summer. Just remember that light and brighter colors are better for the summer.
