5 quick ways to update your wardrobe for fall

As the warm weather is taking its final lap for the season, I love to pull out my stored clothing. The sweaters and other cozy treasures are fun to revisit, but how fashionable are they? No matter, there are quick and easy ways to update your look without pouting. Look fabulously on-trend even if your budget is not what you hoped.

    Belt it

Gather all the belts you own and have a little fashion show for one. Wrapping a belt over a blouse immediately changes the look. Try a skinny neon belt over a cardigan for a cute retro look or redo how a shift dress hangs by adding or changing the placement of a belt. Adding a couple of new belts to your collection is really an inexpensive way to update your style. Ribbons in all widths, colors, and patterns can fill in in a pinch and give your look a feminine touch.

    Add a collar

Peter Pan collars are a cute way to transform last season's sweater or blouse. Not only is there a wide variety of style, the price range is wide as well. And there are also ways to DIY with fabric scraps and beads from the craft closet. Making it at home allows you to customize the look to suit the clothing you have.

    Change your jacket

A new jacket is one of those necessities that can take your look from boring to a trend-following and funky. Leather moto jackets are hot right now, and they are surprisingly versatile. Pair with jeans or dresses for a look that is as comfortable as it is stylish.

    Cover your legs

Hit the stocking section of your favorite store to stock up on sassy tights. This inexpensive update can even be paired with your summer shorts for a fashionable, trendy look that costs you less than a fancy coffee. Wild leg wear is another great way to take the attention off the fact that you have worn that same black skirt twice this week! Who's looking at your choice of skirt when your gams are having so much fun!

    Style is in the bag

If your purse has seen better days, than it is time to replace it. While quality, a.k.a. expensive, designer bags may be on your wish list, it does not take a fat wallet to find a pretty replacement. Look for an on-trend style like a doctor's bag or fold-over clutch to hold all your essentials in fashionable elegance.
