You should try to explore ideas from a different culture if you can, today -- don't worry, it will be easier than you think. You don't have to polish off your passport and hop a flight to Thailand! Even if you just listen to some ethnic music on the radio or eat at a sushi restaurant, you will get enough of a taste of diversity to make a difference in your day. Either you will cherish your own culture all the more, or get interested in learning more about someone else's.
Don't let your mind get to you today. Feelings of being threatened and frightened will soon pass. Take short trips if you're traveling. Having a partner to fill the void is not in your favor today.
