Overview
There's nothing wrong with debating yourself in order to come to a firm conclusion about how you feel about a certain issue. But there's a problem with internal talk -- no one can hear you! Getting your ideas and concerns out in the open is much more helpful. When you vocalize your thoughts and feelings, you can quickly see what makes the most sense. You don't have to talk it out with an expert, either. Any interested bystander could be the sounding board you need.
