Thinking ahead may seem impossible -- right now, you really don't know what's coming. Since you don't have a crystal ball, you won't be able to figure it out without more information. But maybe you shouldn't get so caught up in thinking in terms of a certain timeframe. Instead of figuring out what the next week, month or year holds, think in bigger and less specific terms. This is a good time to indulge in fantasies -- imagine what you want your life to be like, in general.
Temper your workaholic tendencies today and avoid taking on new projects. Focus instead on creating a greater foundation for your already existing work. Don't think that this effort and focus will go unnoticed, and don't be surprised if a boss decides to give you a promotion. All those evenings of burning the midnight oil will come to fruition today. Take some time to relax, because the next couple of days you'll need some reserved energy to be effective in your work. Remember, in managing your energy, you are actually being more effective in your work. Sometimes less really is more.
