Sure, you won't be able to do one hundred percent of what you want to do, but if you wait for other people to come to your aid, you won't get anything done at all. Save collaboration for some other day. Now, if you want to get something done, you have to do it yourself.
Temper your workaholic tendencies today and avoid taking on new projects. Focus instead on creating a greater foundation for your already existing work. Don't think that this effort and focus will go unnoticed, and don't be surprised if a boss decides to give you a promotion. All those evenings of burning the midnight oil will come to fruition today. Take some time to relax, because the next couple of days you'll need some reserved energy to be effective in your work. Remember, in managing your energy, you are actually being more effective in your work. Sometimes less really is more.
