Overview
Be critical of invitations you receive today, especially if they are business-related. Probe a little bit deeper, and ask a few more questions about what they are offering you in exchange for your time -- is this something you really want to get involved with? Ask them who else is coming -- and if someone you don't respect has also been invited, that should tell you all you need to know. Why give up your free time to spend it with someone you don't like, doing something you don't understand?
