There are many possible good outcomes to any negative situation. You can see them if you just look hard enough. If someone refuses an invitation you've made, it's not the end of the world. At least now you know for certain that you can cross this person off your list and move on to another.
Temper your workaholic tendencies today and avoid taking on new projects. Focus instead on creating a greater foundation for your already existing work. Don't think that this effort and focus will go unnoticed, and don't be surprised if a boss decides to give you a promotion. All those evenings of burning the midnight oil will come to fruition today. Take some time to relax, because the next couple of days you'll need some reserved energy to be effective in your work. Remember, in managing your energy, you are actually being more effective in your work. Sometimes less really is more.
