Authority figures are going to be tricky to get along with today. So when you are dealing with a person who has control over what you do, make sure that you don't behave too familiarly with them. It could be that a boss is slowly gaining in importance in your life, so if that's the case you need to treat them with the level of respect that they deserve -- you would expect nothing less of them if the roles were reversed. Do not blur the line between professional and personal.
