Don't be afraid to ask a seemingly stupid question. Your ego is healthy enough to admit that you don't know something. Not only is it wise to be open to learning about something new, it's going to be fun!
Slow and steady wins the race. Impetuous speculation may be tempting, but it's better to stick with what you know at this time and maintain a conservative mindset. Also, be prepared to dispense some wisdom, as friends may come seeking it from you.
