    "Resize" a space
Painting this patio overhang a sunny yellow not only draws attention to the architectural feature, it also makes the space feel more intimate.
Use other warm hues (reds, pinks, and oranges) for a similar effect, and cool colors (blues, greens, and purples) to visually enlarge a room.

Update an antique hutch or built-in buffet with a fresh coat of paint and a pretty fabric skirt.
To create a backdrop for light-colored china and collectibles, paint the back of the cabinet a darker color than the frame. We love Benjamin Moore's Tropicana Cabana (2048-50).

I've been searching for new and fresh ideas that are budget friendly. Painting is one of the cheapest ways I know, but I'm not very good at picking coordinating colors. I'm excited to get started though. My husband is crying in his mind.

we just did a huge repainting project, and used one of those color cards in the paint section at Lowe's, it had three choices, and we used them all. It turned out beautiful!

Our kitchen (redwood) cabinet doors didn't match the original maple cabinets, so rather than get new cabinets, I painted the doors an ivory color and added new drawer pulls. The whole thing cost about $60.00!

Don't forget about spray paint and using it for things like changing the color of old vases, candle holders, decorative trays, picture frames etc. Also, shop the other rooms in your home if you are trying to redecorate another room. Just paint items from one room to fit the next room's decor and voila! It's like new!

First tip: NO COLORBLIND NEON COLORS. The rest of us who live in the house would like to be able to enter the room too.

Well for renters, if they want to paint an accent wall, trim, there are the white textured wall paper you can tack it to the wall and paint whatever you want, just take it off when you leave its saves money and work.

We just painted the bedroom a soft violet, except for one accent wall that we painted a very deep purple. Then we sponge-painted it lightly with the same soft violet and a bit of Martha Stewart silver metallic paint. It's amazing, can't stop admiring it.

After years of working with color, I don't think there is a bad combination. It's all about how they are put together.

I guess there's some symbolism in that photo of the guy's tools being hung on a pink peg-board.

Nice colors cept for the black, I sponged metalic gold on raspberry pink in my sewing room, ragged a dark purple on a lighter purple in the master bredroom for a calm quiet effect, and sponged metalic dark blue on a bright blue, I also find painting ceilings to compliment the room color adds drama. It also eliminates the funky look of white ceilings when strong colors are used.

We did something similar in the bedroom, soft violet and one deep purple accent wall that we sponged with the same soft violet and Martha Stewart metallic silver. It's awesome. Put a whole new and modern dimension in that room.

Chocolate brown walls look very nice with white bedroom furniture. It still looks warm and sophisticated. However, I do NOT like to black walls at all.

if you paint odd or anything except for white or off white in a rental get ready to lose your deposit. kilz is too expensive to purchase every time you wish to decorate again. why waste the money. be smart and paint to where it's not necessary to encapsulate or sand large areas of wall's. your guaranteed to lose .

Invite all your friends over, have them get naked, throw paint on them and have them roll themselves against the walls.
