Celebrity Closets: 6 Design Tips to Steal from Kris and Kendall Jenner's Closet Makeover

Having worked with celebrity clients such as Eddie Murphy, Jewel, and Derek Fisher,Lisa Adams, the founder of LA Closet Design, knows a thing or twoabout creating a beautiful, well-organized closet. We asked her to share her best design tips - and to share a peek at her latest project for HGTV's Million Dollar Closets: making over the closets of Kris and Kendall Jenner.

1. Invest in High-Quality Shelves
You're storing items everyday, so it makes sense to have cabinets that are strong and attractive. "The sturdier the panels, the more luxurious your closet will appear," says Adams.

2. Bring Shelves Up to the Ceiling
It sounds like a no-brainer, but many cabinets stop short of the ceiling
-losing valuable storage space. "Extending cabinets to the ceiling, like I did in Kendall's closet, makes the space feel bigger," says Adams. It's a visual trick because it helps draws the eye upwards.

3. Don't Forget to Decorate

"Your closet has the ability to set the day's mood-so why not ensure that this area is one that leaves you feeling organized, empowered, and ready to face the day? " says Adams. Bring your personality to the space by painting it, installing crown molding, or hanging a chandelier, such as Adams did in Kris Jenner's closet. They're are all easy ways to make the space feel more finished and luxurious. One other suggestion? "Adding a mirror helps make the space feel larger - and it also means you can see your fabulous outfits!"

4. Use Matching Hangers
Even if you don't have the budget to overhaul your closet design, a matching set of hangers is "one of the easiest ways to make your closet look more tidy and uniform," says Adams.

5. Organize Shoes by Heel Height
Hangers help tall boots keep their shape. Grouping similar shoe heights together - flats on one shelf, stilettos on another, creates visual uniformity and helps you locate the right shoe for the occasion.

6. Use Drawer Dividers

The best way to store accessories? Adams recommends drawer dividers (She likes glass for its boutique-like look). To care for long necklaces, Adams prefers hanging them on hooks so they don't get tangled.
