    Maintaining equipment and tools
With summer gone, you will probably not be maintaining the yard or be doing any serious gardening. Therefore, you need to clean your shovel and other tools, drain and store garden hoses, and sharpen blades of cutting shears. Also remember to clean the lawn mower and other motorized equipment with a rag. Make sure that there is no gas in the equipment. Drain out and run the equipment until completely dry. Refer to the manual for greasing and oiling before storing equipment.
