    Will Women of the Future Never Have to Shave?

    Think about it if you never had to shave again. You'd never have to think twice about wearing a skirt without tights. You'd never have to worry about the embarrassing hair on your upper lip. You'd never have to stay wrapped in a towel at the beach because you didn't have time for a wax appointment. This fantasy world where you could be completely hairless and free of razors (and wax) may be a reality sooner than you think, according to a recent article posted on cosmeticsdesign.com.

    Apparently, a team of scientists at the University of Pennsylvania have discovered a gel that can stop unwanted hair growth. The gel contains the antiviral agent cidofovir, which according to the articles, "Induces local alopecia when topically applied." Translation: It gets rid of hair when used at the right percentages.

    I don't know about you, but I'd much rather erase my bikini line or leg hair once and for all than have to tame it with a razor every few days or allow some stranger with a bowl of hot wax to rip it off every month. The product definitely has a long way to until it ever reaches the market, but in the meantime at least we can hold on to the hope that there is a happy, hairless future in our reach.
