No matter how much I love the white meat of a chicken breast, when it comes to grilling season, chicken thighs nudge the white meat out of the running for favorite food ever.
After all, chicken thighs are cheap, flavorful, and incredibly, deliciously crave-able when marinated right, then tossed on the grill. Growing up, my mom's go-to chicken thigh marinade was a mixture of soy sauce and 7-Up. I could swear there wasn't a single better thing to eat on the planet than those rich and buttery, soy-sauce salty, tossed-over-hot-coals chicken thighs.
