Good Afternoon DACED Friends,
Our country held a Great successful Election last week, and although not all the races had the outcomes we'd would have preferred, President Obama was Re-Elected for a 2nd term and our nation and the state of Texas became alittle more Bluer. I give Congratulations to all our great Democratic candidates who ran. Win or lose, you all performed a great service for the our country and fellow citizens. Thank You.
Tomorrow, we will be holding our final club meeting of 2012. Each year we hold our November gathering mid-month so that it will not create conflicts during the Holiday Season. Our weekly Democratic Social, held at the Panera Bread in Mesquite each Saturday morning 8:Am - 10:AM, will continue as normal.
This will be an important meeting for members to attend.
We will be making many important decisions that will impact the direction our club takes in 2013. We will be holding Club Elections, discussing any proposed amendments to the club By-Laws, and tackling several other pressing topics.
Nominations for club officers will be taken from the floor and then voted on. Amendments to the By-Laws will also be taken from the floor, the vote on submitted Amendments will take place at the February 2013 meeting.
Our club will be adopting a family from the Mesquite Social Services for Christmas. We'll collect all the donations at out club Holiday party on Saturday December 8, to be delivered the following week.
On Inauguration day, January 21st 2013, we will be holding a local celebration marking the start of President Obama's 2nd term. The event will be open to the public. Details to follow soon.
