    Drown Proof Your Children

Every year there are many people of all ages who die from drowning. They do not realize how dangerous waters can be.
Have your children take lessons or teach them yourself. Children do not have life experience.
They can walk off into the deep end of a pool and drown in just a few minutes.

Babies and small children left alone in a bath tub can drown easily too.

Learning to swim if easy if you learn how to breathe properly. You take in air from your nose or mouth and blow it out in the water or out of it.

Recently, I heard of a small child wandering off from their parents at a mall. He ended up lost for many hours. This is not the mall's fault or any stranger's responsibility. Parents are responsible for their children and the people left in charge of them.

Swim in a safe place where the water is clean. Most public pools must be treated with chemicals to prevent many diseases. These are better than some polluted lakes and streams.

Make sure you are strong enough to swim to the shore if you become ill. Keep an eye on other swimmers around you. Ask your family members to help watch over you and your group.

Learn not to panic. Use eye goggles to protect your eyes. Wear a suit that does not constrict your movement in or out of the water.

    Take frequent rest periods.

Carry nourishment with you for quick energy. If you are out in the sun, make sure there do not spoil because this can make you ill.

If you can, take a life saving course because many people drown while trying to save another person because they do not know how to properly rescue another person.
Kids love summer, and swimming is a given, but there is summer fun on dry land too!
