    Beauty Guru: Braided headband how-to

Not every day be a hair winner. For me, most mornings are prone to running late and scurrying to get out the door on time. So, I really love hair styles that are made for on-the-go women like myself.

For this month's Guru assignment, I decided to show you guys my favorite fast and easy hair up do. It's a full-crown braiding headband. This hairstyle literally takes less than 5 minutes to throw together. It works greats for those mornings where your hair will just not lay right. Or maybe your feeling a little oily and limp and want something cute.

    Supplies Needed:

    -Hair Brush and/or comb

    -Bobby Pins

-Hairspray (I love the Aussi brand - it smells great!)

    -Straightener

    STEP 1

Brush your hair and part down the middle, like you would if you're making pigtails.

    STEP 2

Gather one side into a pigtail just above and in front of your ear. Part into three sections and braid down to the ends.

    STEP 3

Pull your braid up and around the crown of your head, much like the area where you would normally place a headband.

    STEP 4

Secure with bobby pins. I like to stick mine in at the top of my crown, then burrow them below my hair so they are not visible. Follow steps 2-4 to complete the other side.

    STEP 5

Use your hair straightener to style parts of your hair that were left out of the headband. For instance, sometimes I'll forget a little strand of hair. So, I'll clamp the strands at my roots and twist my wrist around while letting the hair glide down. This creates an effortless curl, which I think is adorable. Sometimes, I will use more bobby pins to secure my bangs back under the braided headband. But I've also brushed my bangs over into a swoopy look and secured with pins as well.

I think this hairstyle works for all hair types. My hair is of medium length and thick. But I've seen it done with much longer or thinner hair.

Sometimes like to try to re-vamp this look. Here are some fun ideas:

    - Try doing three braids on each side, then braiding those three and creating the headband for a triple look.

    - If you have tiny flowers you could stick those randomly in the braids to create an adorable boho look.

    - Have any extra ribbon or lace lying around? Incorporate that into your braid to give it a cool dimension!

It's fun to experiment with this hairstyle! I think it looks really good to wear with one of your favorite scarves. So this fall you can really show off your awesome neckline!

Try it out and let me know what you think.

Did you trying any creative technique to play up this hairstyle?
