Beauty Guru: Fall trends for 2012

Autumn is right around the corner now. For the last month, the nights have seriously cooled around these parts. I have actually broken out the jeans when heading to outside venues for the evening. With school starting next week and Labor Day approaching warning of the impending seasonal change, fashion and beauty lovers are stocking up on new trends and ideas to float them into fall.

What are some trends for fall you ask? The smoky eye will never die around this season and messy buns will neither. Gold is coming back in full force after silver took its thunder for a number of years. Pink and Grey are major players in fashion this season also along with lace and leather. And don't forget the boots!

2012 Fall Trends and How to Achieve These Looks

    The Smoky Eye:

The smoky eye to me never includes eyeliner but that is because I can never properly apply it. When my hand touches an eyeliner pencil, it seems an earthquake erupts in my hands. I can't draw a straight line to save my life. So the smoky eye to me is layers of eye shadow upon eye shadow applied until the desired look is accomplished. Go heavy on the mascara and smudge.

In this look I chose to add one layer of a white shadow over the entire lid. Along the lash line, I applied a heavy gold shadow in a small line. Above this gold, I added olive green for a pop of color. Coat the lashes with mascara. What do you think?

    Pink and Grey:

When the kids and I were shopping for back to school/ work clothes, pink and grey were major players in the stores. What a beautiful combination pink and grey make together. With chilly weather right around the corner nothing teams up with grey better than a playful pink. I also added a hint of silver with this look as grey can mimic silver.

    Loving Gold:

Gold with its come back from years of grouping together with brass is reemerging in beautiful new forms. Pair with a pink shoe for a girlie look or keep the gold together for a smashing sparkly time! What are your takes on gold? Are you ready to rock it again or is it a never again?

    Messy Top Buns:

My hair being long and all can get on my nerves laying on my back all of the time. Piling it on top of my head, wrapping a ponytail around it and pushing in a couple of bobby pins to hide the band is an easy fix.

Autumn is calling. Are you ready?
