Everyone who knows me, knows I am not what you would call a fan of nail art. I like to keep my nails simple. One color, unless it is a French manicure and no stickers, glitter, or newspaper print. However, when the whole confetti nails trend broke out a while back I decided to try it. Here is a simple and very easy way to add some confetti sparkles to your nails.
Confetti Sparks in one... two... three Easy Steps
I have read plenty of detailed and meticulously created confetti nail art tutorials online. They do look nice. However, I feel I am little too old for most of them. Since I am a writer, my manicures never last long. On those days, I decide I want to create garment, the manicure does not make it through the first day without chipping. As a way to extend my manicure and hide those flaws and all, I have used confetti sparkles. All you need are two products a base nail color and Essie's Luxeffects Top Coat (use either "a cut above", "set in stones", or "stroke of brilliance")
Step One: File nails to make them even and smooth.
Step Two: Apply two coats of your base color.
Step Three: Apply Essie Luxeffects top coat after base color is dry.
Tips and Tricks to Make Your Nails Spark
Like I said these are the lazy confetti sparkles. But they work to extend my manicure and hide chips and nicks in my base coat. Here are some tips and tricks you could use:
Tip: Use a quick drying base coat. I prefer Essie nail color because it dries super fast and really one coat applies full coverage for many of their colors.
Tip: Use the Essie Luxeffects top coat to extend your manicure once chipping occurs. Apply to your tips only or the entire nail. The choice is yours.
Trick: If you have any nail color on the skin surrounding your nails you can quickly clean it up with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.
Trick: If you want to create confetti designs, use nail art stencils and apply the Essie luxeffects over the stencil. Let dry, and apply a clear top coat to finish.
If you are not crazy about nail art like me but want something that will extend your manicure, confetti sparkles is the way to go. You can use any confetti method you prefer. I prefer Essie's luxeffects because it does the work for you as a top coat with confetti sparkles in it.
