I'm excited about this month's Beauty Guru assignment because it's what product junkies like me love to talk about - our favorite beauty products! I can ramble on for days about the products I like, love, and just can't be without but we'll be here all day. Don't let that beauty bag in the picture fool you. My beauty stash has it's own three-drawer cart in my bathroom! So I had to imagine myself on a desert island and I can only take five items with me. What would make me look put together without being totally boring?
Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation:
I've been using this foundation for years. A dime sized amount of this liquid foundation gives me a great, natural coverage that never looks caked on. It gives my oily T-zone the matte finish it needs while keeping the rest of my skin moisturized. Not only is it awesome by itself, it works great with my moisturizer. Just mix in a little drop and my moisturizer becomes a tinted moisturizer.
The Florida heat can be murder on oily skin and even though my face has a matted finished with my foundation, it won't last long once I step out the door. That's why I always follow up with this press powder from CoverGirl. After being disappointed with a few powders I came across this one and it's the only one I use. With built in oil control it keeps the oily T-zone monster at bay during the day while giving me a clean and natural look.
I've tried quite a few blushes before giving up on them completely. Besides making a mess (I can be a bit clumsy!) I can never get the right color. It's either so light you can't see it or too much that I look crazy. Then this cream blush by Avon came into my life and my world changed! Coming in a handy stick, I just rub a bit on each cheek and blend it in with my fingers. I get an instant, natural glow that's just effortless while keeping my skin moisturized at the same time.
Buxom Mascara from Bare Escentuals
Out of the couple of mascaras I have, I used this one the most. Buxom delivers tons of natural volume with its long wand and tiny bristles without clumping. It immediately opens my eyes up, especially on those mornings when I'm really dragging! It also gives my eyes the extra drama I need when pulling off a bold look.
Mary Kay Lip Gloss in Sweet Raisin
Though I'm starting to get more lipsticks into my collection, lip gloss will always be my favorite. This one in particular is a staple in my urse because of its natural color and subtle shimmer. On those days I'm running late or on the go, this gloss completes any beauty look from au natural to bold and dramatic.
