Beauty Guru: My top 3 summer beauty secrets

Enjoy summer without your makeup melting! Summer has always been my favorite season. I love it because the air is warm and there are so many more things to do outside; you're not stuck sitting inside all day being bored. But summer is not the best season for beauty. I'm sure you all know what I am talking about…greasy skin, frizzy hair, melted makeup, etc. In the summertime, you've got to work harder to look your best. With that being said, here are my top three summer beauty secrets that you might find useful.

Ditch the foundation and opt for tinted moisturizer

I'm a gal who loves her foundation. I love the way it evens out my skin tone and makes everything look perfect. But I definitely don't like wearing it in the summertime; it feels like it's melting off my face in the heat and humidity. Instead, I wear tinted moisturizer. Tinted moisturizer will still even out your skin tone but won't feel so heavy. Just apply a tinted moisturizer all over your skin with your fingers.

Protect your hair from the sun

Your skin is not the only thing you should protect from the hot sun. If you don't protect your hair from the sun, the color can fade and your tresses will feel dry and damaged. Make sure to apply a styling product with a UV filter to your hair before you go out. This type of product will prevent your hair color from fading. Also remember to deep condition your hair more often in the summer. Deep conditioning your hair once a week will keep it soft and healthy. A favorite deep conditioner of mine is organic coconut oil. I just apply it to the ends of my hair and leave it on for 30 minutes. After I rinse it out, my hair feels incredibly silky.

Always wear an eye shadow primer

If you don't wear an eye shadow primer in the summertime, your eye shadow won't stay on very long. The humidity will cause your eye shadow to crease and fade in just a few hours. Applying an eye shadow primer to your eyelids will prevent your eye shadow from fading and make it look more vibrant. My favorite eye shadow primer is Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Eye shadow Base; it keeps my eye shadow in places for hours.
