Three weeks ago, I had my third, precious baby. For the last nine months, my focus has been on maintaining a healthy body and growing my little peanut. Vanity has been close to the last thing on my mind. I let my roots grow out (Why am I so prematurely gray?). I gave up peels and scrubs and miracle lotions for more natural products that wouldn't irritate my hormonal skin. Now, as a result, I have a big, handsome, chunky baby boy, but I feel less than glam. I have that postpartum "frumpy" feeling and I'm looking to change that asap!
The first "must have" is a fix for this hair. I have naturally dark chocolate colored hair, but the gray is overwhelming for someone in my early thirties. For this, I choose not to hit the salon because an at home kit works perfectly for me. I don't have a complicated highlighted look, just a simple, dark brown. I also don't have time right now to squeeze in an extra couple hours when I have three demanding sweethearts. So, in 45 minutes, I can manage to beautifully fix a major cause of the frumps. What's my go to hair dye of choice, you ask? Well, it's Loreal Excellence Hair Color Creme. This stuff is fantastic! I find that it covers my grays completely and lasts longer than a salon job. Can't argue with that, in my opinion! You can find it at any drugstore and the variety of colors is huge!
Next on my wish list is Mustela's Post Partum Body Restructuring Gel. This gel sounds like a miracle in a bottle. I have never tried it, but it promises to tone and tighten my belly and boob skin to its pre-pregnancy glory. Do I really believe it will do all it promises? No. Creams and lotions and potions just don't have that ability. I do, however, think it will help at least a little bit, and that's all that matters to me. All I'm asking for is a little bit. I love the Mustela brand and have used it on myself and babies for about a year. The products are high quality and smell clean and delicious.
Finally, I am going to be jumping on the BB Cream bandwagon this holiday season. The one I have my eye on is Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45. I happen to be a huge fan of shortcuts and making the most out of my time, so this seems like a no brainer. One product to moisturize, protect, and treat? Yes, please! I tried a small sample of this a week ago and loved how it made my skin feel. I also love the spf 45, being that I live in Texas and it's still sunny and hot at the end of November.
Ladies (and gents), I'd love to hear some of your must haves this holiday season! What are you wishing for to make you sparkle? What have to tried and loved and are coming back for more?
Wishing you all a happy, beautiful holiday season!!
