6 Baby 'Beauty' Products that Are Awesome for Moms

baby bathbaby bathI'm a lifelong beauty product junkie with no plans on ever quitting. So, obviously, when my daughter was born a few months ago, I was thrilled to purchase all sorts of skin-soothing, yummy-smelling "toiletries" for her. So thrilled that I bought way too many products. But it's cool, because they're being put to good use -- not just on her, on me, as well. Forget Sephora, Babies R Us is where it's at for my beauty needs these days.

This wash is, in a word, heavenly. Not only does it work amazing on my daughter's full head of hair, it's a super luxurious wash for me. It smells gorgeous and lathers great -- a little bit on a puff goes a long way.

And speaking of yummy-smelling things, nothing compares to this lotion by California Baby. It's not quite heavy enough (for me, at least) to use as a body lotion, but it's perfect for hands and arms. Whenever I'm giving my daughter a post-bath massage, I slather some on myself.

I'm kind of obsessed with these. Not only have I taken to using them in my own ears, I use them for smudging eyeliner at the corner of my eyes. They do the smokey look much better than their skinny counterparts.

I'm not really one to put too much ointment on my baby -- she doesn't seem to need it. But before she was born, in the midst of a baby-buying frenzy, I purchased this super-rich, Vaseline-like ointment. And I'm glad. Because I use it.

Put a little dab on dry cuticles, or smooth some on cracked heels before putting socks on, and voila -- smooth as a baby's bottom.

This is the perfect body lotion. It's thick, non-greasy, easily-absorbed, and it smells unbelievably clean.

An old school tip. I haven't used this shampoo on my daughter, but I've definitely bought it for myself on occasion. It's not good as an everyday shampoo, as it's not all that moisturizing, but if you have fine hair like me, it's good for "in between" washes -- it won't weigh your hair down.
