We were skeptical about this English shaving staple - a teeny, tiny bottle of oil for shaving our legs? Sounds messy and unrealistic - but have to say, we were pleasantly surprised when we took it for a test drive. Because it's made with pure essential oils and is super-concentrated, you only need a few drops to shave an entire leg. The oils act as a lubricant and allows the blade to glide over the skin, minimizing friction and eliminating nicks, cuts, and pesky ingrowns. As an added bonus, the oils used - lavender, tea tree, and rosemary - have, healing, soothing, and antiseptic properties, so they soothe already-irritated skin and prevent further irritation. After shaving with the oils, our skin was so soft and hydrated, we didn't even need to apply lotion post-shower.

Somersets Women Sensitive Shave Oil, $14.99, available at Drugstore.com.

With the start of a new year comes many things we love: A newfound willingness to hit the gym and eat healthy, the simple joy of a fresh and clean new day planner, the end of those annoying "very special" Christmas episodes on TV. But perhaps our favorite thing about the start of the season is the literal deluge of new bargain beauty buys hitting the drugstore as we speak.

Unlike prestige brands, which release their new products seasonally, drugstore brands generally only launch their latest and greatest twice a year - January and July - which means now is the perfect time to stock up on the coolest new primpers. From high-tech skin potions that rival the fancy department store creams, to a mascara that's already a makeup artist must-have, these are the 20 hair, skin, makeup, and nail buys we're bum-rushing the beauty aisles to snap up now.
