'ELLE' Magazine (Faux) Article Inspires Hannah's Haircut on the HBO 'Girls' Finale

HearstIf you watched the season finale of HBO's Girls last night, you saw Lena Dunham Hannah Horvath draw some "hairspiration" from ELLE magazine. The young author was in a downward spiral of anxiety when she missed the deadline for her e-book, her first big break. So she manically started flipping through ELLE and landed on a page featuring Carrie Mulligan, which was actually a faux article created for the scene. In a frenzied moment, she grabbed a pair of scissors and started chopping her locks to look like Mulligan's, which resulted in a tragic bowl cut.
