So, the Vajacial is kind of a buzz word right now. And yes, it's exactly what you think - a facial for your vajay.
One spa offering the treatment, Cali's wax spot Stript Wax Bar, say it's "pampering down there." But... I'm skeptical. Frankly, it souds like more of a pain in the you know what than anything. Do I really need to go back to the spa a week after my brazilian and throw down more cash on an area of my body that only one other person sees? So I asked Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, a cosmetic dermatologist in New York City, if he thought it was something women should be doing. And honestly, his answer surprised me!

A vajacial is a treatment that serves up an anti-bacterial cleanser, an exfoliating treatment, a mask for a specific skin concern and - at Stript - a slathering of lightening cream to undo any hyper pigmentation caused by in-growns. Sounds like a lot of extra work to me, but Dr. Frank says yes, you should get it! IF you get in-growns at least. Are you as surprised as I am?

Here's what he said: "This is actually a potentially beneficial treatment as ingrown hairs are quite common and unsightly in the genital region. The treatment is truly a variety of what we would use at a prescription level on other areas of the body, such as the face. The key to minimize the problem is providing anti bacterial, anti inflammation, exfoliation and depigmentation effects. The ultimate and definitive treatment is to simply laser off the hair which will cure the ingrown problem, but for those who will not go down that route this treatment should be quite effective."

But is it safe? Well, yes and it can actually help ward off infections from in-growns gone wild. Just remember, protective underwear should shield the actual genital to avoid irritating contact of chemicals while your getting the Vajacial. Good to know!
Would you guys ever get a Vajacial? Has anyone had one?
