Why did makeup artist Peter Philips choose the platinum shade for Chanel's spring show? "I walked into Karl's renovated studio and the parquet floors had a metallic covering this color," Philips explained. "He loved it, so I suggested using it on the eyes." Philips created the custom cream shadow the night before the show and spread it over the lids and up to the brow bones. "We had to be heavy-handed because the runway is so big," Philips said. At home, keep this color concentrated on your lids only, and line your eyes with black pencil. "Otherwise it will look like you're wearing theatrical makeup," Philips said.
