Spring is here and with it come new trends. See one way to rock them all here!
Intricate nail décor has been creeping its way onto store shelves and into makeup collections for over a year. But what started as easy-to-apply, pre-decorated nail polish strips has turned into an all-out texture, color, and finish-laden free for all, and it isn't going anywhere in the coming Spring and Summer months. This is by far my favorite trend because it makes loud and flashy nails chic, and the possibilities are endless! But it's this trend's versatility that can make it hard for a girl to know where to start. My suggestion: use other trends as the basis for your design.

Candy coat your nails with soft colors and fun designs. Pastels are a safe way to rock the color trend without worrying about going overboard. Clueless about what design to use? When in doubt, I go for something simple and repetitive, like polka dots. Dots are a great pattern to create using tools you already have; use the end of a toothpick or a mechanical pencil.

Glitter is a winter trend that's here to stay. If you were hesitant to incorporate it into your makeup routine, nail art is the perfect way to go! I recommend choosing a polish with densely packed flecks, otherwise it will take multiple coats to get your desired sparkle and your drying time goes through the roof. Dress this trend up by swiping a glitter polish over a black or navy, or make it Springy by sporting sparkle over your favorite bright hue. You can even change things up by creating a glitter gradient across the nail.

Animal prints are forever fierce in my book and, while wearing them in an outfit can seem overwhelming, working them into a nail look can be more manageable. For some, wearing a print on every nail can seem too intense. When that's the case, pick an accent nail to pop your pattern on and choose a solid color for the rest. If, like me, your capacity for nail art ends at polka dots, grab a sticker! Stick-on polishes make detailed patterns like these a piece of cake, plus you can trim them to create your own, unique nail design.
