    Taming Unruly Brows

Bringing a photo of a hairstyle you love to your stylist? Great idea. Bringing browspiration to your eyebrow-shaping specialist? Major mistake. I did it recently and left with results that looked completely out of place on my face. The lesson: A brow shape that suits one person may look awful on another, so you shouldn't model your arches after anyone else.

Needless to say, I'm now growing my brows back. So I asked New York City eyebrow expert Maral Bailon of Warren Tricomi Salon for her top tips on how to speed up the process and keep my arches looking tidy in the interim.

    1. Go cold turkey.
Bailon advises avoiding all plucking, waxing and threading until eyebrows have fully grown in. That way, you can really see what you're working with. For me, it's impossible to resist reaching for the tweezers when I see a stray so I've banned tweezers from my apartment (a worthwhile concession for better brows).

    2. Use a serum.
"Hair growth of the eyebrows is probably the slowest on the human body. It can take months for them to grow back," explains Bailon. She recommends speeding up the process by adding an eyebrow growth treatment such as RevitaBrow or Anastasia Brow Enhancing Serum to your nightly skincare regimen. I go rogue and coat my brows in Latisse instead.

    3. Fill in the gaps and conceal strays.
"Use a pencil or eyebrow powder to fill in the gaps. Then apply concealer to hide stray hairs and brow gel to keep them looking neat," says Bailon. I bulk up my brows with TouchBack Brow Marker and hide the regrowth using Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Concealer (it hides everything).
