Cozy things up this fall with a new paint color. Paint is the least expensive home improvement project there is, yet it makes the biggest impact of all. Whether you want to keep things neutral with dark chocolate walls, or go bold with a deep red, we've got the best paint colors for every room in the house. Check out our recommendations below and begin your journey to a fresh new look that's sure to impress.
On more than one occasion, we've recommended the colors in Glidden's Share the Harvest collection. These colors are absolutely perfect for the entire year, yet they certainly lend themselves well to fall decorating ideas. Now remember, we are not exclusively endorsing the Glidden line - Any other brand will work just as well when similar colors are used.
Glidden's collection includes 10 stunning colors:
Soft Suede - A gorgeous taupe hue that will blend with any décor, in any room of the house.
Crisp autumn leaves - A stunning brown with red accent. This color would be fabulous in a kitchen or dining room.
Black mahogany - This color is a deep purple, which would make it perfect for the bedroom.
Mustard seed - Don't let the name fool you. Mustard seed is not your mother's mottled yellow appliance color from the days of old. In fact, it is one of my personal favorite shades in the collection. It's the perfect combination of yellow, gold and brown all rolled into one.
Pumpkin patch - Add a vibrant splash of orange to an accent wall in any room. Great for entryways, too!
Dusty gold - Here's a gold that is energetic, bright, and cozy at the same time. Regardless of where you use it, it will liven up the room. It's a fabulous color for any living area.
Red delicious - The name says it all here. This color is a deep, brick red tone that will add a touch of fall anywhere you use it. Again, red is always a hit in the kitchen or dining room.
Leather brown - Dark brown is thought to close in a room, but when accented with the right accessories, the results are quite stunning. Leather brown is a fabulous choice for a study, office, or even the bedroom.
Spanish olive - Add a touch of the outdoors with an olive hue, such as Glidden's Spanish Olive. This is a fabulous color for a Tuscan or Mediterranean themed room, as both styles are based around colors found in nature.
Aztec gold - Golds and yellows are trendy colors to use at the moment, and Glidden has a hit with their Aztec Gold shade. With its rich coffee brown and gold tones, this is one of my favorite paint colors for fall.
If the idea of using a bold color on all the walls frightens you, try using it one on wall alone. Select a wall that can be used as a focal point and paint it a different color than the others. Learn how to choose and work with a focal point in our article titled "Easy Focal Point Ideas for Interior Decorating."
