How to bronze without overdoing it

I'm half Italian so I'm an olive skin lass. It's great in the summertime because I tan super quickly and get all goldeny. Please don't yell at me about skin cancer ... I do wear SPF.

However, in the winter I'm just this sallow, yellowy looking person. I try to mask it with rosy, ski bunny cheeks which gets me through the super cold months.

The spring is when I really go crazy. The warm weather and sun tricks me into thinking I should be tan. So, I use these bronzers to trick my skin into appearing tan.

    Here are my winners:

    For my face:

Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer ($13.95) by Physicians Formula

Sensitive skin girl here. I use Physician's Formula religious for all my makeup needs ... it's all eco-friendly. For my base I use the Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer ($9.95), which has a built in SPF 15.

Over top of that, I finish off with the Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer ($13.95). It has two shades that you swirl around for a more natural look.

    For my bod:

Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray ($10.99) by Neutrogena

I'm all about spray on ... no lotions that goop up or leave streaks and orange palms. Neutrogena MicroMists Tanning Sunless Spray ($10.99) comes out easy with a light mist to cover all the hard-to-reach places. Plus, it's oil-free, won't clog pores, and dries in five minutes.

    For my legs:

Michael Kors Leg Shine To Go ($10) by Sephora

My friend who worked for Estee Lauder introduced me to this amazing product: Michael Kors Leg Shine To Go ($10). It's packaged like deodorant and is scented with Michael and leaves a subtle shimmer behind. I use it on my legs and decolletage.

I've used Lancome Flash Bronze for a couple of years but it stinks - as in smells really bad , most of the sunless tan creams /sprays do -but this year I'm using Jergens hint of sun-- I love it ! no smelly formula and if I don't wash my hands after applying it doesn't stain my palms that fake orangey color.
price difference is realy attractive too !

ANOTHER TRICKY WAY TO PRESENT ADS!

I'm not sure what all this talk is about advertisements. This post is clearly about what bronzer beauty products the user is using to "trick my skin into appearing tan". I think it would be weird to have this title and and NOT include any products!
I love Vincent Longo Water Canvas in "Natural Flush". I'm a fan of cream blushes and this is the perfect shade of bronze. (I hope no one calls THIS out as an advertisement!)

I tried that Loreal One day tint Bronzer gel. I have to say its nice to have a little color instantly WITHOUT that awful chemical tanner smell lingering forever.

Getting that tanned skin look is hard.

Is there a self tanner that works and does not leave an odor?

i like using self tanners, its so much safer than tanning beds and the sun. the only thing is that everytime i use one and then decide not to use it anymore, after i get the color i like, it fades off and looks all weird...like i have some kind of weird skin problem or something. i definitley dont like the rub on kind, they leave weird streaks all over the place, even if i mix a little moisterizer with it. I think ill try out this micro-mist spray tan tho, maybe it will go on a little better. i esp like the fact that i dont have to touch it with my hands and they wont turn weird colors. The leg thing thats pictured looks interesting.

I found this to be unhelpful. Full of advertisements without any useful tips. And I have to say I have Olive tone skin...but even I do not use that much product to look tanner.

I'm looking for a body bronzer that just coats the skin. (Doesn't actually change the skin (self-tanners).........trying to keep away from chemicals that change pigment of skin. I will try the stick and the first Physician's Formula product. Any ideas?

The Michael Kors leg shimmer is woonderful. The shimmer is just light enought to accent your legs. the price has eally come down. I bought it the first year it came out and it was close to $40.

Love the Neutrogena one. I use it year round. In the winter I use it lightly on days that I look sickly and often in the summer. I think Alycia is one of the lucky ones to have olive skin tone. What I would'nt give some times to have a little color. Don't get me wrong my pale skin can look very pretty some times but I have some days that I just need a little something to perk me up. Another brand I love is Sun Laboratories. I buy it at Harmon's.[or at sunlabsonline.com It's about $12-13.00 I only buy the micro mist in ultra dark. It gives you a super dark tan that looks like you've been away for a month or so. The only problem with it that it really stains your hands and feet if you are not careful, you have to spray at a distance and carefully. I stopped spraying my feet at all and let the mist from my leg spray coat them or used the Neutrogenia lightly over them . I also wear gloves and use a spread out drop cloth under me when I spray. Yes it takes a bit of getting used to but the color is so worth it. It's similar to professional color you get at places like Hollywwod Tans. I'd rather go to a salon but it's kind of pricy right now.

I use the Satin Glow self tanner by Avon, it has SPF15, moisturizes better than Dove or Jergens, has light or med self tanner, and leaves me with a shimmery glow. Also Loreal Sublime Bronze SPF20 is a great face self tanner. $10 isnt bad for that leg stick pictured.

I like the lotion tanners myself. At least I can control the amount going on and where it's going! I'm Italian too, and this is wonderful in the winter months, even in California!

Romary, try Sally Hansen's Air Brush Legs. I am very pale, and I use the light glow shade on my neck, chest, arms and legs. Just spray it on and rub it to blend well. It looks really natural and doesn't have a funky smell. You have to be careful because it will rub off on light clothes, but I swear I love the stuff! It just gives me a healthy natural glow. I can't use the spray tanners cuz they irritate my eyes and the smell gags me.
