About This Author
I am in the process of moving. I hate moving, but on the happy side, my husband & I are going to live in Iran for an academic year. And no, I'm not scared, nervous, or whatever. I've been there before, and had a blast in a beautiful country.
I believe a person gets out of travel what they put into it, and I am happiest when I am standing in line in an airport in my socks, passport ready, knowing I get to go someplace.
It will be a great chance to learn the language and hang out with the in-laws, especially the kids. In fact, "zanamu" means aunt, though more importantly, I am a "mom," too. But she is staying in the States, doing her sophomore year at the University. I will miss her terribly, and yet that is the nature of our family. No matter which country we are in, there will always be someone to miss.
In the meantime, I will study Persian, steal a few recipes from my fabulous mother-in-law, work on [another] Master's Degree, eat too much, and exercise too little. And write and blog.
