  • "The Bachelor" recap: and then there were four

    It was an episode of high anxiety, as there were only four roses left for six girls. I was beginning to lose hope…but finally, finally the person I can't stand is gone. GONE! But, we'll get to that later.

    Last night's show started off with what Chris Harrison’s voice over refers to as “the most shocking confrontation in Bachelor history." The girls are chilling in their ski chalet in Sun Valley, Idaho, where ABC had transported them for the week. Here’s the convo that went down, redux:

    Marshawna: I’ve seen how Matt lives and I like it.
    Robin: How can that be? You’ve never been to London.
    Marshawna: Don’t be condescending. I meant I’ve seen the skiing and swimming.
    Chelsea: You have a negative attitude, Marshawna. Do you even want to be here?
    Marshawna: You are attacking me. Walk off.
    Chelsea: […getting talked over…]
    Marshawna: Walk off! You do not have to like me.

    You can ask ABC for a real transcript, but one thing is clear: these girls are in lurve. I can tell because everyone is so touchy. They are in terrible suspense of where they stand with him. Isn’t it thrilling? And Shayne, the girl who started out seeming the most dramatic—crying in Vegas over having to share Matt’s attention—now seems quite mature and genuine.
