A carrier pigeon, clad in a vintage-postcard print-could there be a wittier way to convey your dinner party's pecking order? We fell for the concept upon spying it in Clare Youngs's Book Art (Cico, $21.95). Then we simplified the process for you
carrier pigeon placecard1. Print our placecard art onto 8 1/2''W x 11''L card stock, cut out, and fold in half as directed.
2. To equip each pigeon with a message, write guest's name on a 5/16''W x 6''L strip of paper and curl the ends by wrapping them around a pencil.
3. Then loop the string around the bird's front leg before perching him atop a plate.
4. Let your guests take them home afterwards for a sweet party favor!

By Country Living | At Home – Fri, Mar 15, 2013 3:55 PM EDTColor Me Pretty! 7 Cool Ideas for a Pink and Gold-themed Party
By Disney Baby | At Home – Fri, Mar 15, 2013 3:25 PM EDTI just love looking at photos of inspiring parties and this has to be one of my favorites. For her daughter Avery's first birthday party, my friend Lauren Jimisen, who writes for Babble and A Mommy in the City, really went all out. Her color scheme which included shades of pink and gold was fun, feminine and totally on-trend and I'm kind of obsessed with it. I think I may be borrowing more than a few of her ideas for Fern's next birthday party! This decor would also be perfect for a baby shower, bridal shower, or really any kind of party in case you're in need of ideas. Here are 7 inspiring ideas from this pink and gold birthday party. - By Lauren Hartmann

Take a moment to examine the stain on your lapel before you start rubbing at it vigorously. Is it in the fibers, deeply embedded in white cotton? Or is it resting aloft dark rayon, barely seeping into the surface? Check the damage and plan your attack accordingly, lest you set the stain forever.

Whether your closet's the size of most people's dishwashers or not, there's always something to clean, to organize, to weed out, or to add. And for those of you who like clothes as much as we do, the closet should be our happy place - somewhere where we can dream about the day, be a little selfish with our thoughts, and get lost in a swirl of colors, prints, and labels. But when your drawers are barfing sweaters, and your shelves are spilling pants, it's hard to be zen when putting together an outfit.

Learn how Easter is celebrated in 10 countries all over the globe. By Amanda Greene
Kids in the U.S. grow up expecting a delivery of eggs and candy from the Easter bunny each year, but it may seem odd to an outsider. Brought to this country by German immigrants in the 1700s, the practice is rooted in the belief that rabbits and eggs symbolize fertility and rebirth. While this may be the norm in America, however, other cultures have their own, unique Easter celebrations. Whether it's drenching one another with water in Poland or reading crime novels in Norway, check out 10 Easter traditions from around the globe and the history behind them. Photo by iStockPhoto.
Haux, France
Don't forget a fork if you're in this southern French town on Easter Monday. Each year a giant omelet is served up in the town's main square. And when we say giant, we mean giant: The omelet uses more than 4,500 eggs and feeds up to 1,000 people. The story goes, when Napoleon and his army were traveling through the south of France, they stopped in a small town and ate omelets.
