How do you know you're valued? That's a question I always ask of couples that are coming to me for premarital counseling. I want to make sure they are aware of how important it is in relationships to feel that each of them is valued by the other. I know they're feeling valued at the moment or they probably wouldn't be asking me to marry them. I can not be the only one that is seriously concerned as to how the homelessness, joblessness, the increased suicide rate and the everyday stresses that the parents of today are facing.
Yet, not one politician has ever mentioned that we should be doing whatever is needed to give these kids a sense of security.
I have seen the effects on my oldest granddaughter. She is constantly worried that Dad is not going to be able to pay the rent. He has been ill this year and has missed quite of bit of work and is always running to playing catch up.
