So many makeup companies are blending sunscreen into their products, so it's easier than ever to integrate SPF into your makeup routine. Because wrinkles are largely caused by sun exposure, and too much vitamin D can cause skin cancer on top of that, you need to protect your skin whenever you go outdoors.
Here are some products that will keep you guarded during the day:
The best practice is to apply a layer of sunscreen under your foundation everyday. My favorite is Clinique's Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector Broad Spectrum 40 SPF, $22. It's a weightless formula that includes broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection, as well as antioxidant ingredients, which protect against environmental damage.
Apply to your face and neck and use as a primer foundation or by itself. I love that the formula works well with my oily skin type and doesn't make me look greasy.
Something to keep in mind: If you're going to be

If most of your friends are getting married this summer, you'll want to nail down an easy-yet-beautiful look to make your primping less laborious. Follow these five steps to an elegant, DIY bridal look.
Start with foundation for a flawless canvas. I chose Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Weightless Foundation. Make sure you hide any under-eye circles by adding concealer, like the Cargo Jet Lag Concealer. And to make sure all that base doesn't budge, add a setting spray like Urban Decay De-Slick.
Apply eyeshadow primer to ensure the longevity of your eyeshadow. I like the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer in Eden. For the next step, I used the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, but you can choose whatever brand you prefer.
Apply a shimmering, white shadow to the inner corners of your eyes. Then take a light taupe and blend it along the crease of the eyes. Find a matte, medium-brown color and apply it to the outer corners of the eyes, and

I think it's happened to the best of us: A new line of foundation catches our eye, the salesperson is friendly and convincing, and you go home with some new makeup. It looked great on you at the counter, but the next morning, before work, you find yourself colorful and splotchy in the mirror.
Consider that your past. Here are some tips to help you get the correct shade of foundation every time.
Start with three shades
First, choose three foundation shades that you think are closest to your foundation shade. Then swipe each shade on your jawline. There is a common misconception that you can swatch for your foundation shade on your wrist. This is an incorrect way to match for your shade because your wrist is generally lighter than your face. Then after you have applied the foundation shades to your jawline look to see which one disappears into your skin tone; that is the correct shade for you.
Check in sunlight
Now even though the color might

Cosmetics are not meant to last forever, and using them beyond their shelf life can lead to breakouts and eye infections. Longevity varies among different products, but items like mascaras and lip glosses should be thrown out every few months. I know it might seem like throwing out money, but would you eat cheese that's been expired for month? Let alone put on your face something that has been expired for a year?
Here's the scoop.
I know many women who have been using the same mascara for years. Their reasoning is that it still works, so why throw it out?
The reason to throw out your mascara when it expires is because it's the one item you are putting directly near your eyes, and the bacteria built up in the mascara wand can give you an eye infection. The general rule is that mascara expires three months after you first open the tube. However, most makeup companies claim that their mascara expires in six months.
They way to tell is to

Regularly cleaning your makeup brushes will help prevent breakouts and make the application process easier and more-refined. Cleaning them is easy, and you'll only need household products. Follow these steps and you'll be shine-free:
Start by wetting the brush hair with slightly warm water. You don't want the water to be hot because it can ruin the brush hairs. Make sure to only wet the bristles of the brush and not the ferrule holding the hairs into the handle of the brush. Getting water into the ferrule will dissolve the adhesives and ruin your brush
Next, grab a dab of shampoo and massage it into the bristles. Rinse and repeat the process until the water runs clear. The last step is to lay the brushes flat on a paper towel. Never allow the brushes to dry upright in a container as the leftover water will seep into the ferrule and un-glue it.
It takes around 12 hours for the bristles to dry completely, so it's best to do this process at night.

For children, the whole concept of Halloween seems too good to be true. They get to wear a costume, knock on strangers' doors, and ask them for free candy. Then they pretty much eat as much candy as their heart desires for an entire night. But for a parent, Halloween can be downright scary.
Your pre-schooler changes his mind four times about his costume, your tween wants to trick or treat with friends (and no parent), and your teenager's costume seems to be exposing an awful lot of skin. You haven't even started thinking about the costume you're wearing to your friend's annual Monster Mash. How can you enjoy the holiday while making sure it's fun? Here's sweet relief in the form of Halloween-helping tips.
Take out your Halloween decorations two to three weeks before the holiday. If you've gone to the trouble of buying and storing the decorations, enjoy them for a few weeks as excitement for the holiday builds.

Ah, so romantic in a 2013 way, I suppose, but truth is I had met Jackson, of course that's not his actual name, a couple years prior when we were both semi-happily dating other people. We had taught at the same school but at opposite ends of the building, and had only spoken once in the line for bagels at a faculty meeting.
"The students are cray but at least the bagels are decent," I had said in my awkward attempt to strike up a conversation with the well-dressed, attractive guy who I had heard was teaching 7 th grade History before starting law school. (Awww.) He smiled, poured me a cup of coffee and that was it. I was intrigued but we were both in relationships and well, love is blindness.
Fast forward two years, and we found ourselves unattached and looking for tickets to see The Lumineers while they're playing at, shock, our favorite venue. I had put out a mass "Please someone give me tickets and I'll love you forever," thus the Facebook

It's a dream, is it not? Well… most of the time it is. But what about those times when you find yourself alone, eating a cold grilled cheese sandwich in the school theater? Or what about the time you realize that in the class portrait, which is the FIRST page of the yearbook, you are seated in such a way that everyone can see directly up your skirt?* Those times can be devastating. I hope these tips can help you, dear reader, as you embark upon this school year.Read More »from 7 Lessons I Learned the Hard Way: Surviving School

If your normal self would make fun of Alastair for saying that his favorite music is Mozart (what a loser - ZING), your first day of school self should keep this type of criticism to herself. You never know when someone is going to make fun of your love of dinosaurs or ancient Egypt. We're all little weirdos. Plus, Mozart is
