    Preface

Spent the day working as usual. Trying to take my mind off of things I would rather had never appeared in my life in the first place. But hey, thats life. It was there for me to face and I was lookijng it dead in the eye. I had been hiding my work from my family for a long time. For good reason. And After my 32 years of mad fury expolding as big as the fireworks on the 4th of July, I was going to continue to. I had mentally gained my idependence on this past Independance day. How ironic is that? Needless to say, it has surelly left a hells fury amongst my family and I. I had always thought that they couldn't handle or tolorate me any more than I could with them. Hey we all tried, but we do make an intresting mix. To my hearts awearness, I was surely the salt that would lead to my familys stroke. No Problem. We all have our place, and some times my family can only take a pinch of me and I to them. None the less, I had to move forward. I had to know and understand that

  • I leave for Orange County on Wednesday (4 days from now). I leave for Vietnam 2 days later.

My real name is MaLeah. I am going to be in Vietnam for four weeks at the end of July and beginning of August. The first two weeks will be spent with the Good Samaritan Medical and Dental Ministry. We are stationed in Cao Bang this year. I will be working in the lab drawing blood and running tests. I hear there are some beautiful waterfalls in that area.

My purpose for this blog is to inform people back home about my experiences (i.e. that would be you mother) while I am in Vietnam. Also, I have gone on many other trips, and I am facing the fact that a journal is not something I can keep well. I am hoping that this blog will have more success than my journals.

I have collected a lot of data and tonight I am making up a tentative schedule of where I will be going to while in Vietnam.

Tomorrow I will have more info.

    Exploring,

    MaLeah

  • The United Nations News Center reported on Thursday that the Food Price Index, an indicator of global food prices, fell for the third consecutive month in June.

However, the the new report is overshadowed by looming concerns by the U.N. that the punishing heat endured by Americans in the Midwest will also see a sharp end to that price drop in July. The increase in price would be due to the effect of extreme heat on U.S. corn and soybean production, as reported by Reuters.

Here's a closer look at the current food prices index and what the outlook will be for July.

U.N. Group reports nearly all indexes down from May: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) press release showed the FAO Food Price Index was down four points, or 1.8 percent, from May at 201 points. Cereal was at 221 points, unchanged from May, while meat fell by 1.3 percent, dairy 1.5 percent, and sugar down 1.6 percent from May.

The oil and fats price has dropped

  • Seane CornSeane CornThis summer at Intent Blog, we've been featuring a series of in-depth conversations with some of the nation's top yoga instructors and wellness experts in our GaiamTV interview series. In this interview with Seane Corn, Seane discusses ways to detox the mind and body with yoga.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with us, Seane. We wanted to start out by asking you about your video, Detox Flow. Detox is a term that often means different things to different people. Can you start off by telling us how you define the term detox?

Detoxification (in the context of the body's health and wellness) is an alternative and holistic approach to help rid the body of impurities that accumulate in our cells as a result of a poor diet, environmental stressors and emotional repression. These impurities can fatigue our vital organs making them operate less efficiently which can lead to illness and disease, both physically and psychologically.

Why do you think it's important for yoga to be

  • There is much to consider when looking at brand new housing developments. There are so many upsides - gorgeous, brand new homes with all the bells and whistles. And then there are the downsides that you might not be aware of. Take a peek at my "Seven Landmines" before you buy into that new development.

    1. Empty Lots = Empty Promises

Yes, there are great deals out there right now, but today's market has brought forward a whole new list of caveat emptors, or "buyer-bewares." Brand-new homes in huge developments outside of downtown Las Vegas have sold at fire-sale prices.

There are lots of buildings and developments out there that have sat half empty. Many tract developments of homes remain half completed. Be warned, even though you may be getting a great deal you may be buying into a development or community that may never be fully completed-or that may take too long to come back to life. You'll be stuck with an unsellable house in the middle of an unfinished

The windows of our bedrooms face due east so we get the sunrise every day. As much a sunrise as you can get in the middle of the city. Which, actually, has its own special magic…at least to me. Rays of light suddenly bursting into being like so many bright yellow arms reaching around towers of concrete, all at once being reflected and fractured and reflected again, like a beam going through a thousand prisms, against the steel and glass of the stalwart urban sentinels I call my neighbors.
I love the dawn. Even if, despite all my best efforts and intentions, I am still not naturally a morning person. I struggle to wake up, greedily and groggily clinging to the last vestiges of my slumber. I try vainly to develop and internal body clock. To date, much to my frustration, it hasn't kicked in. Perhaps that's why I love having the morning's new light creep through my bedroom shades, its fingers coaxing me out from under the covers.
Dawn, unlike any other time of the day, is filled with
