• My son Matt and his wife Audrey are both Iraq veterans. Audrey left the service in 2007 to begin a family.
    In Oct of 2010, my first granddaughter was 2yrs old and Matt was deployed to Iraq. Audrey became ill and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Audrey's tumor was such that she had to decide whether to lose all function of the right side of her face, or become profoundly deaf in her right ear. She chose to be deaf. The surgery was successful and as of this posting, she has not had a reoccurrence.
    In May of 2011, Matt, who works out daily, is in a running club and has been in the military for close to 20 yrs., ran a marathon.     ARLINGTON, Va. - His disguise consists of a blue surgeon's mask, sunglasses and a baseball cap that reads "Free Iran." A small modulator distorts his voice. He uses a pseudonym, Reza Kahlili.

    Kahlili says he lived a double life until the mid-1990s, passing along secrets to the CIA and recruiting Revolutionary Guards for the agency. In a sense, he resumed his double identity after publishing his 2010 memoir; he was now a former covert agent who had thrust himself into the public eye.

The best-employer awards are essential PR efforts, because an employer has to complete an application in order to be considered for honors. The application form is likely to ask questions about family-friendly programs in place at the organization, the level of turnover, and fun facts about the company or institution.     How important is the right type of exercise? Cesar says walks really are the best exercise: all that chasing a ball may get your dog some physical exercise, but it creates an anxious mind. Get your dog out on a walk and tire his brain out so he's ready to come home and relax.

    Is it OK to let your dog climb up on your lap? Cesar says it depends on how you do it. If your dog climbs all over you and tries to dominate, you're setting up a situation where your dog is in control. Get your dog in a calm state and then invite him or her to climb on your lap.

    And how can you be the best pack leader to your dog? Lead....literally! You should walk in the door before your dog, and be the leader your dog wants. Your dog doesn't want to be in charge, but if no one's taking the lead, he'll do it. Be the leader and take that burden off your dog so he can relax and just be a dog.

    I've given up meals for a tub of movie theater popcorn. I love the flavor so much, I had to create a gelato version. This gelato is so unique that I actually served it as a side dish for a hamburger at the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival's famous Burger Bash. My popcorn ice cream sandwich was the belle of the Burger Ball. Oh, and the popcorn must be freshly made - don't even think about store-bought or the microwave variety. Sure, it might be faster, but the gelato will taste terrible!
