When I was a teenager I dreamed of a man who would make love to me. When I was an adult I dreamed of a man who would have passionate, intense sex with me. As this adult, I've learned that the most satisfying sexual encounters are the ones that take me back through this entire list on a single date night. A date with a man I have come to adore, who I respect, who is great at seduction, who loves me deeply and is hot between the sheets is my dream come true. I can bring that list so he should too!       I like to rearrange the facts I hear to suit my imagination. As a Bellydance artist I give myself this license in order to let visualizations of my work evolve without limitation. The fun parts of this process for me are the unexpected sensual awakenings and the surprising expansions of my thoughts as I let go of the rules and party with my mind.


      In a recent fantasy I watched myself in my mind's eye performing the notorious Dance of the Seven Veils. Associated with the biblical tale of the execution of John the Baptist, this dance intertwines violent revenge with seduction. Not a fan of combining Bellydance with violence, I considered how I might entertain myself more pleasantly with this visualization. So I dropped the "facts" and set off for a virgin voyage of The Dance of the Seven Veils in my irreverent mind.

    • Finding Your Inner Goddess Through Bellydance

      As women we have the opportunity to embody goddess energy throughout the many phases of our lives. I think of goddess energy as the energy we feel when we connect our mind, body, and spirit with source. There are many ways we can achieve this connection. Bellydancing is my number one favorite way to tune in, tap in, and turn on! I have been Bellydancing since the age of four. When I was young I felt like a princess as I learned magical movements and wore the fanciful costumes, when I was a preteen I felt safe as I discovered my budding sensuality, as a teenager I felt sexy without losing my sense of inner empowerment, when I was in my twenties I felt like a starlet as I danced for others, and now in my thirties I feel I am understanding my sensuality on the deepest levels of my being.
