Here's something you might not know about me…my jewelry is a shameful mess. Yes! It's true. I need to organize it stat! But, I don't like half the jewelry holders, organizers, and stands out there. Besides, some of them are really expensive! That's why I've decided to take matters into my own hands, by making one myself. I found a few DIY jewelry holders I'd love to make. Now, I'm not a super crafty person. I'm just using these as inspiration for my own projects. On a side note, I love how all of these were either made from materials that they repurposed or already had laying around! These projects really have me in a DIY mood. This week marks National Dog Bite Prevention Week, an effort created by the United States Postal Service to bring awareness to the ever-growing number of dog bites each year. Time for a Frosty!I can't believe how warm it is getting all of a sudden. Last week in the Northeast we were drinking hot tea. Now we are into full iced beverages! The other day I spotted this great iced Nutella on Pinterest and decided to come up with my own version. How delish does it sound?!! One afternoon I made this for a quick pick-me-up and it was totally perfect. It was chocolatey, nutty, and had just the right amount of coffee to pull me through until dinner. Decadent, for sure, this creamy iced coffee drink might just be the perfect way to stay cool this summer!

Ingredients:
(Serves 1)
8 ounces coffee, freshly brewed and chilled in the fridge
1/4 cup 1% milk
2 tablespoons nutella
Whipped cream
Ice cubes

How to Make it:
Whisk together the coffee, milk and Nutella, until the Nutella is mostly dissolved. Pour the mixture over ice cubes and garnish with whipped cream.

When I'm out with my three kids, I often get some bizarre questions and comments. One of the most common question is, "Are all of those kids yours?"

On the surface, it seems like an innocent question, but it is rife with condescensention and pity. I've heard the question enough to understand what they're really saying is, "I can't believe that a dad is out with children by himself." After I assure them that my wife is healthy and alive, they smile and give me a backhanded compliment.

"You're a good dad."

Really? Are the expectations for dads so low that showing up in public with your kids, makes you Dad of the Year?

I know that many dads have experienced similar scenarios. While we try to be polite and respond respectfully, having strangers question our parenting abilities can be annoying.

The next time you observe a dad out with his children, please exercise some restraint and avoid saying the following five things:

I despise the word "diet." I don't diet. I never have. I don't subscribe to diets as a means for losing weight because, from my experience, they simply do not work. I'm a healthy size 6 and generally eat well, but by no means am I a health nut. I don't think about food more than I have to, and I certainly eat my fair share of sugar by enjoying a can of Dr. Pepper, a handful of dark-chocolate peanut clusters, or a bowl of chocolate ice cream. I generally eat until I'm full; on occasion I stuff myself into a food coma like anyone else - but not too often.

But while reading this month's issue of Harper's Bazaar, I flipped to an article titled "Lose Weight Fast? Eat all you want, just not when you want - is that the secret to staying thin and healthy?" by Bill Gifford. It was based on a book called The Fast Diet by Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer.

Fasting?! "Great! Another ridiculous fad diet!" I thought.
