      Finger Waves
Faux Finger Waves at Mark Fast

The flapper do is making a comeback. But this time, it's tousled and relaxed enough for everyday wear. By creating a pinned-up bob, even those with long hair can rock the look.

Get the Look: Faux Finger Waves

Step 1: Make a deep side part and spritz your whole head with spray starch. Use a deep-wave or medium-barrel curling iron to create loose waves all over.

Step 2: Finger-comb all the waves except for those in front (they should remain sleek and close to your forehead). If you have long hair and want to create a faux bob, twist your longer layers into a low bun about two inches below the nape of your neck. Roll the bun under and upward, and secure it beneath the shorter layers with pins.

    • DIY Tribal-Inspired Sandals

DIY footwear conjures images of postpedicure paper flip-flops and plastic bags taped over shoes in the rain. To elevate the idea, we turned to I Spy DIY's Jenni Radosevich. We gave her a pair of $17 H&M sandals and told her to make them special for less than $20. The result: seriously cute, tribal-inspired kicks that took about 45 minutes, start to finish, to doll up.
