I don't know if you've seen Willow Smith's (Will Smith's daughter) new hair cut but it is a Mohawk. Why did her parents allow her to do that to herself? I am not a fan of the Mohawk myself. It is offensive to many Native American people and it looks down right ghetto and trashy. I'm a teacher, and when students come into my classroom with that crap in their hair I make them get rid of it:especially if its got goofy colors and spray in it. It is so distracting to other students. What are parents thinking? They might as well tattoo the kid from head to toe. And people wonder why they are criticized when they dress inappropriately or wear inappropriate hair styles: because appearance matters! What do others think about this?

I have recently been a victim of stalking. This older guy from my church started stalking me around March of 2009 and things progressively got worse over time. I moved from my old apartment and left the church last summer to escape him and he still found me. I have numerous calls to the police and police reports. I caught him following me from work back in September, I guess that's how he found out my new address. He even went so far as to go visit my dad when he was in the hospital to try to get to me. The straw that broke the camel's back happened a week ago when I caught him lurking in my backyard at night. I called the police in hopes of getting him on criminal trespass. When I went in to see a warrant officer at the station and told him the history of this situation, they changed the police report to felony stalking, put a warrant out for his arrest, and I am able to get an order of protection. Believe it or not, in a way I feel bad that the guy is going to jail. I never wanted itRead More »from Stalking

I found out that Britney Murphy died today. This has been a sad year. So many young stars have died. I'm noticing that cardiac arrest is almost always the case. Well, Britney was one of my favorite actresses. My favorite Britney Murphy movies are : Clueless, Uptown Girls, Girl Interrupted, and Sin City. I liked Little Black Book a lot to. what about you? I'd love to hear your favorite Britney Murphy movies and letters of condolences.
Did you hear about Rihanna's new tattoo. She had "Never a failure Always a lesson" tattooed right below her right clavicle. She had it written backwards, so she could always look in the mirror and read it. I think she is still plagued by the whole Chris Brown thing and needs to get over it without putting permanent reminders of it on her body. Don't get me wrong. I'm a big supporter of tattoos. I have two of them myself, but this seems a bit much. I watched a 20/20 special with Chris brown last Friday, and he pretty much admitted that he has seen Rihanna since their supposes break up and she was lying when she told Diane Sawyer that she has no contact with him. I believe him. I had a feeling she was lying all along, and this tattoo proves that she's still thinking about him and the whole situation. She made a comment on 20/20 about being strong a few weeks back, and this obviously proves that she has to keep reassuring herself of who she is and the decisions that she makes. I recently read a study that found that never married period age 40 an up have higher levels of self sufficiency and can be happier than their married counterparts. I am not forty, but I have never been married as well, and sometimes when I look at my colleagues and associates in my age group who are married( thirties) it does seem like they're not so happy with their life. I am completely happy with my life and being single. I am extremely independent and I sometimes feel that having a husband would interfere with that independence. In short, marriage is not for everyone. What do you think?
I read about the Amanda Knox conviction today, and my best friend and I are torn about it. She thinks she innocent, and I say she must be guilty and got what she deserved. She seemed too nonchalant in court: laughing and joking around. She didn't really look concerned. She originally accused an innocent man of killing her friend and when that story fell through, she said she was not at home that night. I thought 26 year was generous for senseless murder. I reads in the news about the vicious deadly attack on police officers in Washington today. It is sad to see what the world is coming to. Police believe this may be a copycat killing similar to an attack on a policeman in Washington on Halloween night. The suspect was apprehended and said his goal was to get rid of law enforcement. It's a sad day when the police can't live long enough to do their job. Some people works so hard to fight against those who are hear to help. Citizens wage war on the police in the streets; children wage war on the teachers in school and their parents at home; the unemployed wage war on the president and blame him for their shortcomings. Can someone please tell me what this world is coming to?
What did you think of dancing with the Stars today. I thought all three stars put their best foot forward. However, I was not surprised that Kelly finished on the bottom. I don't think she deserved to be in the finale anyway. Joanna Krupa would have been a much better competitor. She can actually dance. Kelly made it riding the coattails of her family name. Way to go Donnie. I really liked his last dance. Too bad though, because this cat's in the bag. Maya is taking home the trophy tomorrow night. What do you think?
I went grocery shopping yesterday and purchased all the food I'll need to make my Thanksgiving dinner. I'm African American and we really go all out for the holiday:Turkey, Dressing, Macaroni & cheese casserole, Cranberry sauce, greens, sweet potato pies, a zillion cakes, and other extras. I purchased my first home in September and will be hosting the holiday at my house to show off my new pad. I'm inviting my immediate family and some friends over. I'm trying to decide if I should make a few extra dishes in addition to the traditional soul food meals I prepare. My friends are of all nationalities,so I would really like some suggestions on what to add to my meal so that everyone will enjoy. I got a suggestion from a colleague to stuff the turkey. This is something that most Black people just don't do and can be difficult to do, because we don't actually make stuffing. Would love some food suggestions and to hear what others plan to do for the holiday.
