Thoughts and Meditations
Here it is Friday the 22nd of June already and after making it past the "longest day of the year yesterday the 21st, I was so proud to be able to explain to my wife and Filipino Kids that here in the Philippines it means very little cause it is always warm but, where I come from in the United States (Iowa) it means the beginning of summer. I then had to explain that each of the 4 equinoxes meant something different ..... the start of Spring on March 21st, Summer on June 21st, Fall on September 21st and Winter on December 21st and they occur every 4 months.
Today I was reflecting how hard my wife works to keep the family's clothes clean and the meals cooked and the dog clean and Jeremia, our "special" child, taught. .All that plus she works part time, that sometimes seems like full-time at CLF (Christian Learning Foundation) a Christian school pretty close to where we live.
I try and set a good example to her and the kids by not getting upset at

I have discover that I can draft these Blogs for Yahoo Shine at any time and copy and pase them to the "Post Blog" feature when ever I want to.
In Blog #3 I shared a few of my thoughts about dealing with stress and some of the reasons why I appear to be very healthy. I have also discover is that if I don't write things down as soon as I think of it, I sometimes can't remember the thought right away. Eventually the thought will come back to me.
I have discovered that there are so many past experiences I want to share with others that I get wrapped up in a ball of confusion as to that I write about first. I keep thinking that if I focus on one thing at a time it will work better the key word is "focus".
How I can learn to focus...
Keep the Main thing the Main Thing! Remember Today is the first day of the rest of your life. I will only mention this once and that is that I am a strong believer in trusting my higher power whom I choose to call God.

As I add days to my life I find that I have to adjust my mind and thinking to keep up with the "world" around me. That world includes things like family members friends and all of the events that take place in my "little" world.
I discovered many years ago that if I maintain as close to a positive attitude as I can, no matter what happens I have a less stressful day. I was advised by my first wife's well known brain surgeon that Stress can cause almost any illness. He made that comment to me after my first wife died from a brain tumor. I had asked him the question. "Can Stress cause brain tumors?" His response to me was, Dave, stress is the primary cause of many illnesses and you would be wise to spend the rest of your life avoiding as much stress as you can.
He said that our life style and the foods that we eat and have eaten in the past contribute to our general health and if we grew up with the right foods being fed to us, our chances are much greater to
One Way to Relax is to Meditate!
I have found that a good way for me to Relax from everyday events is to sit here at my computer and reflect. Sometimes I reflect on my past, my childhood, my family, my move here to the Philippines or just let my mind go.
I spend a lot of time meditating and working here on my computer. I write, play simple games (like cribbage and dominoes) or just spend time checking my email and going to different web sites. (I think it is called "surfing the net!")
I have a couple of other Blogs on here, but I was thinking I would have another where I could just share my thoughts of the day. Also now that I am set up on "Facebook" I could share with friends there some of the things I have done in the past and things I do now to occupy my time now that I am retired.
Till Next Time!
As I grew up my grandmothers and my mother and father taugh me to cook and do a great job of it , I might add!
I hope to share with you some of my favorite recipies in future blogs her on Yahoo Shine!
