Doughnuts are seen as a diet busting dish and for good reason too, because they are after all cooked in oil. If you do not wish to use the unhealthy version, try out this version and I promise it will remind you of your old favorites. These doughnuts are both fluffy and satisfying at the same time because they are more of a quick bread than anything. You could need some special equipment if you don't have a 3 inch cookie cutter but you can buy one for less than a dollar; if you are already a savvy shopper and own a doughnut baking pan this would probabbly be the best time to use it. The toppings are really up to you of course, but some great ideas could be confectioners sugar combined with some cocoa sprinkled over the top of them. The glazes really take away the healthy aspect of the doughnuts because they are butter and sugar after all. Let me know what you guys think of this recipe, I hope

"The Six Dollar Steakhouse Thickburger includes mayo, A.1.® Steak Sauce, crumbled blue cheese, crispy onion strings, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and a 100% Black Angus beef patty on a seeded bun." You would think with a six dollar burger that anything but perfection would be a let down, so they're really putting all their eggs in one basket with this new burger. This burger became available this week and we thought it sounded pretty interesting, so we set out to review the six dollar burger with extremely high hopes.
We'll just jump right into the review and say this burger might not be worth the $6 price tag, however it's still a pretty good burger. The burger it-self is nice and juicy, not to mention how big the patty is. The extra toppings were a bit much at times and didn't contribute to the overall flavor of the burger, they just got in the way sometimes. This burger would be even better if you didn't order it with the mayo, and just used the steak sauce instead. The blueRead More »from Would You Pay $6 For a Drive-Thru Burger?

Well that special time of year is upon us when the leaves start to change and everyone finally realizes the holiday season is upon us. For many of you the season starts in about a month with Halloween and to help you get in the spirit a little early we're going to do a roundup of some Halloween themed treats on the market today. Everything in this article can be found in any grocery store around the United States and shouldn't be a problem for anyone to track down.
Our first Halloween themed treat we want you to be aware of are the black, silver, and orange colored Hershey's Kisses that stood out among other81ziWaOI6UL__AA1500_-560x560 treats to us because of their obvious color combination. There's not much different about these Kisses aside from the fact that their foil wrappings mimic the colors of Halloween, because under those wrappers is just plain old milk chocolate. If you want to get into the spirit a little more, then we recommendRead More »from Our Favorite Halloween Themed Food

Dunkin Donuts is at it again with new and seasonal products that are sure to get anyone in the spirit for the Autumn months ahead. The new donut flavor is caramel apple and it comes in a cake donut that sprinkled with sugar, and the returning flavors are pumpkin coffee and an apple cider latee, as well as pumpkin doughnuts and Munchkins. We're always in the mood for seasonal products here at foodreview101 so we took a trip to our local Dunkin Donuts and tried out some of their new fare.
We first tried their Caramel Apple Drizzle Donut that we hoped would remind us of that huge apple onthe end of a stick you can buy from the stores, however what we got was a super sugary donut that didn't have much apple flavor at all. The main flavor that stuck out was the caramel which could be due to the fact that the amount of sugar this donut has is really overwhelming. The texture wasn't bad if you enjoy cake donuts, butRead More »from Dunkin Donuts Fall Flavors: Pumpkin Donuts

Everyone knows who Burger King is and that they've recently introduced their newest menu item, however many of you aren't sure if you should waste your money on it or not because it's fast food after all and fast food is unpredictable. The new Oatmeal should be available nationwide now and is an attempt to get back some of their lost customers to other chains that are offering healthier options such as McDonald's or Starbucks. The new Oatmeal is the cheapest in the industry at only $1.99, and one of the healthiest as well coming it at only 110 calories for a regular with nothing added, while the brown sugar comes in a little higher at 270 calories. Would the new Burger King Oatmeal be any good or just fall like their old King mascot?
The interesting thing about this oatmeal is that Quaker is the brand supplying the oats, so if this doesn't go over than they could be the one's to blame. The plain oatmeal is basicallyRead More »from New Burger King Oatmeal

This is more of a news story than anything else because we haven't yet been able to try the new oatmeal being offered up by Burger King. The oatmeal will only be available from 6:00 AM - 10:30 AM, and for a price around $2.00 that either comes in plain original or topped with an assortment of dried fruit that includes raisins, cranberries, cherries, and blueberries all topped off with maple syrup. Quaker is the one providing all the oatmeal to Burger King, which gives both of the companies a way to increase their profits at a time when nearly every American is trying to eat healthier. Each serving of plain oatmeal will be around 130 calories, while the more than likely sugar laden Maple oatmeal will hover around twice the calories at 260. Will you be trying out the new Burger King Oatmeal? let us know.

It seems odd that it took this long for Subway to introduce a Yogurt Parfait onto their menu especially because McDonald's has had this type of item on their menu for sometime now, which makes you wonder if Subway is trying to catch up to McDonald's in the healthiest restaurant race. According to a recent survey it seems that more consumers think that McDonald's is healthier than Subway anyways, but that's not what where here to talk about today. Today we are here to talk about whether or not the new Yogurt Parfait from Subway is worth your money and whether their statement "Made fresh daily with sweet blueberries, juicy strawberries, crunchy granola and creamy yogurt. It's a delicious, low fat treat, perfect for breakfast or any time of day. Come in for parfait our way, and experience the deliciousness today!" is even true.

Jack In The Box doesn't come out with new products often, but when they do look out because they mean business. The new menu option that's aptly called the Jumbo Breakfast Platter has: Scrambled Eggs, Hash Brown Sticks, Pancakes, and your choice of either Bacon or Sausage. Here at foodreview we don't usually condone eating fast food platters like this because of their gut busting amount of calories and everything else, however we decided to step it up and split this meal between a few of us here so that we could decide whether this new menu item is worth its weight in your money.
The company is advertising this as a huge breakfast platter of almost everything you could possible order on the menu, and can be viewed as the Grand Slam of Jack In The Box. As you can see from the picture the order comes loaded with more than enough food for one person, which is why we split the meal between us and perhaps as you should think about doing as well.Read More »from User food review: Feeling Hungry For A Jumbo Breakfast Platter?

Arby's really isn't the first thing you think of when it comes to healthy fast food although they do have some healthy menu items when it comes to their roast beef sandwiches. The chain has recently introduced a new Angus Cool Deli Sandwich sandwich and an Angus Cool Deli Wrap which both look promising in the advertisements as well as on their web-site. The main question is if Arby's would be able to create a fresh and healthy sandwich that would live up to the advertisements that are promoting them as such, or if they would just be another item on the menu.
When you look at what they're advertising it's hard not to think that this sandwich would be pretty tasty right?, wrong. What we found out first hand was that the meat wasn't as nice as we'd hoped it would be and have come to expect from eating Arby's meat all these years. The fixing's that go into this sandwich are what sets it apart from some other fast foodRead More »from User food review: Faux Healthy Fast Food - Arby’s Angus Deli Sandwich
