In 30 seconds: Fake slimness.
Steal this red-carpet secret from Hollywood makeup artists: "When skin is slightly darker along muscles--abs, triceps, butt, thighs--it creates the illusion of definition," says Regine Berthelot, treatment manager at the Caudalie Spa in New York City. For an immediate effect, suit up, then apply a shimmery bronzing lotion along the center of your muscles, fading it outward. We love Caudalíe Divine Legs Tinted Body Moisturizer ($48, caudalie .com) and Soap & Glory One Night Tanned Instant Beach-Bronze Buttergel ($24, sephora.com).
In 1 minute: Zap breakouts.
Bacne is "challenging to treat because the skin on the back has large pores and oil glands," says New York City dermatologist Jeannette Graf, M.D. To cover existing blemishes and any redness, swipe on a self-tanner like Lancôme Flash

We've talked about how to get Victoria's Secret model hair, Victoria's Secret model eyes, and Victoria's Secret model lips. So when we found out Victoria's Secret was launching a new fragrance, Bombshell Forever (online now and in stores May 8), we couldn't resist getting VS model Lily Aldridge's perfume tips. Here's what the California native had to say:
Spray fragrance in your hair. "When people hug you, you smell great."
Switch to lighter scents. "I think a body mist is best for summer--it's not as strong as an actual perfume. I spray it and walk into the fragrance."

Try before you buy (and get a second opinion). "Some people spray perfume on the little pieces of paper, but I think you need to put one fragrance on one wrist and one on the other and smell--it changes once it hits your body, which is crazy! I'll spray it on myself and go home and see if my husband [Kings of Leon front man Caleb Followill]as told to Julie Stone

Comic Amy Schumer, 32, the creator-writer-star of Comedy Central's show Inside Amy Schumer, would do anything for her lady friends (anything). Her case for ovaries over bro-varies:
I do a bit in my stand-up show about the "sluttiest friend." (You know, in every group of girlfriends, there's always one who's the sluttiest. And if you don't have that friend, guess what: You are that friend.) If you've heard the joke, you may think I'm a girl basher. Couldn't be further from the truth. My girlfriends are my best friends. I can tolerate guy time, listening to fantasy football or Call of Duty talk, but I hands down prefer being with the ladies--hanging out, questioning our parents' lacking skills, or dressing incognito to see Twilight or Spring Breakers. Yes, I've seen them all.

Tesh Patel Let's get the stats out of the way first--because they're shocking. Rates of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, have been rising in the United States, and no one has been more affected than young women. In the past few decades, the incidence of melanoma has shot up 800 percent among women ages 18 to 39, twice the rate of same-aged men. Says dermatologist David Kriegel, M.D., "I'm seeing three or four times more melanoma in young women than I used to." And the news on other skin cancers, like basal and squamous cell carcinomas, isn't much better: Rates have climbed 300 percent in the past decade.
The zillion-dollar question is: Why? Every girl and her cat knows the rules: You must wear (and reapply!) sunscreen, avoid prime sun hours, and cover up with shades and a hat. So why do skin cancer rates continue to soar? Our experts answer that veryThe Ten Prettiest Hair and Makeup Styles According to Guys

We know guys can have varying opinions about the hairstyles and makeup we try-when they notice, that is. Essential tips for getting ahead in your first job. Turns out some of them are pretty surprising, right? They are--and that's why I started wondering about some of the recommendations floating out there that are still considered sage work advice for career girls...well, are they still DOs?I decided to run this theory by Alexis Sclamberg, an anything-but-hokey self-help expert and motivational speaker who rocked the house at the Massachusetts Conference for Women. She knew exactly what I was talking about. After her previous career as a prestigious but stressed-out attorney led to "a total meltdown," Sclamberg got her priorities in order, began to help others do the same, and even set to writing an upcoming book on the topic called Borrowed Wisdom: The Best Advice They Never Tell Us. Here, she dismantles a few not-so-true career and life truisms and offers advice that's actually worth following.
