Miss Piggy plays editor-in-chief of Shine for the day (fyi: her office is waaayy nicer than mine).Last month, The Muppets (or, rather, their people, you know how it is, they're...fancy) contacted Shine with a request: Could they guest edit our site for one day? It took us seconds to reply with a resounding "Hell's yes!" I mean, it was a pretty obvious decision. Who doesn't love and have ridiculously happy memories of Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and the gang? All of us at Shine do, for sure--in fact, this request sparked a major Muppets-memory-lane conversation, which sparked a weeks-long obsession, which ultimately inspired Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor Joanna Douglas to dress as an ultra-glam version of Miss Piggy for Halloween.
So, what did The Muppets want to do on Shine? Blog, of course. Help us with story ideas. And, on the eve of the premiere of their new movie (simply titled "The Muppets," because really did we need any more 'splainin?), they especially wanted to share the wisdom that comes from decades of adventures, high-jinks, friendship, love, and, of course, jewel

Shine: Why are women obsessed with rock musicians and other unavailable men?
J: Unavailable men, whether they're rockers or not, are like always totally hot….At least until they become available, and you realize all that intense attitude and quirky behavior is, like, totally annoying. The difference with rockers is, they're louder and tend to, like, use up all your hair care products.
Shine: Who is your female rock idol and why?
J: Oh wow! I got so many rock goddesses in my pantheon. (Which is like a hall of fame, not a sportscar. Groovy, huh?) Definitely Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, Aviril Lavigne, Janice Joplin, Hayley Williams, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks…….etcetera, like, etcetera… Why are they my idols? Whoa, like, if you, like, have to, like, ask…then there's no way I can, like, explain. Listen and you'll totally grok whatThe Swedish Chef's Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe

By Jennifer Romolini, Shine editor in chief | Green – Tue, Nov 22, 2011 9:19 AM ESTHi ho, Kermit the Frog here…and I'm here to say "it's easy being green". Oh, I know, you've heard me sing just the opposite. And it's true that it might be nicer being red, or yellow, or gold or something much more colorful like that. But right now I'm talking about how easy it is to Go Green--doing little things to conserve energy, protect the environment and basically make this planet an even better place for people, frogs and other species.
Here are a few simple tips to help you Go Green.
1. Turn Off The Lights When You Leave the Room.
That's just good sense. You don't need lights to see if you're not in the room, right? And if you're in the room - especially with a pig who wants to hug and kiss you - make sure you leave the room before she turns off the lights.
2. Time Your Showers So You Don't Waste Water. Personally, I prefer to soak in the swamp. (Nothing like pond scum to keep amphibious skin supple and smooth.) But if you're not a frog and you take showers, keep your

2. Your wardrobe should always make a statement. Mine says: "Hey, look at moi! I'm wearing haute couture…and you're not!"
3. Never wear anything that makes it impossible to enter a room without turning sideways.
4. Remember that style comes in all sizes. So, the bigger you are, the more style you have, n'est ce pas!?
5. Avoid body piercing: Moi much prefers to skewer others.
6. Watch what vous eat: My advice: Never eat anything you can't lift.
7. Don't be a fashion victim: If you enter a room and it's assumed that you lost the bet…go home and change.
8. Be happy with who you are. And if this doesn't work for you, then be happy with who I am!
9. The best things in life are free. But only if you're being comped.
10. If you're dating a frog, make sure your wardrobe is waterproof. If you're dating moi's frog, you're toast, sister!

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's cinematic "Twilight" odyssey continues today with the release of the duo's latest vampire-love collaboration, "Breaking Dawn." In this installment, the crazy kids follow a well-tread, familiar path to hetero-normality: First came love, then came marriage and then--SPOILER ALERT--comes a terrifying monster baby in a baby carriage (or, in this case, a big pregs stomach, blood-sucking from the inside).
Sounds happily ever after-ish, right?
But here's the thing: Twi-hards are obsessed with the new Bell-ward creature spawn, or at least the idea of it. In fact, according to numerous blogs and our own Yahoo! search results, queries about "vampire babies" have been spiking all this week and online debates have grown heated, pitting fan again fan in commenting forums. The issue at the center of these debates is: Can vampires make vampire babies?
Twilight Saga Answers says: "Whether vampires can have babies depends on what sort of vampire lore you'reWelcome to the New Shine!

ThinkstockA few years ago, during the first days of our honeymoon, my husband and I got stranded in the Naples train station for 13 hours. This was after being stranded on a tiny island where no one spoke English for four hours, missing two boats and three trains and probably a rickshaw ride and a few cabs in between. It was only 22 hours later, when we finally arrived in Florence at the world's creepiest hotel (not the "hidden gem" I was led to believe-thanks, internet!) and were lying on the polyester-floral-vaguely-burnt-smelling comforter that we realized how our day had gone horribly wrong: It was the end of daylight-saving time in Europe, the clocks had been turned back an hour, and our sad travel-guide Italian had only prepared us to say 'thank you' and politely ask for wine, NOT: 'Is your whole country undergoing a major time change?'
Daylight-saving time ends this Sunday, November 6, which means it's time to turn back the clocks one hour, starting at 2 a.m. If you're anything like us,Beyoncé's baby bump featured in truly, deeply excellent new video

Photo courtesy of MTVIt's not often that we here at Shine are rendered giddily speechless by a pop icon performing on a certain Music Television network, but-oh my goodness!-Beyoncé's new video for her new song "Countdown" is no regular MTV experience. Clad in an array of chic, retro-sleek, poppy outfits that flash vividly among wildly colorful screens, Ms B's performance here is exuberant, beautiful, stylish, and filled with a kind of wonderfulness we haven't seen in a video since maybe, well, forever.
On top of all this, the lady shows off her burgeoning belly throughout, making pregnancy look sexy and strong, and decidedly not like some weird, dated "delicate condition." It's inspiring and, quite simply, badass.

PBSMeet Lily. She's a seven-year-old muppet and new arrival to "Sesame Street" who like, many children-puppets her age, loves her friends, family, and headbands. However, unlike many her age, Lily is seriously struggling with getting enough food each day and living within a family deep in the throes of poverty.
Lily is the star of a new primetime special called 'Growing Hope Against Hunger', a program that's meant to teach kids about America's hunger crisis, which currently affects nearly 17 million U.S. families.
During the hour-long show (which airs this Sunday, October 9, on PBS), Lily and fellow muppet friends like Elmo and Rosita address her family's food shortage and explore community-based solutions like planning a drive for the local food bank and visiting a neighborhood garden to see how food can be grown locally. Deeper messages about hope, support, and giving back are conveyed through songs and that signature "Sesame Street" sincerity-silliness. Country star Brad Paisley and
