Picture this: You are in the drugstore wandering down the beauty aisle looking for a lotion that is going to hydrate your winter parched skin. The lotion bottles are lined up on the shelves like soldiers ready to be sent to battle. So which will best battle your seriously dry skin? From previous experience you know which ones work and which don't. Your glance falls on the classic blue and white Lubriderm bottle. "Yeah it works" you think to yourself, "but I wish it wasn't so cold and clinical in its functionality". Well rejoice gals because Lubriderm has heard your internal thoughts (weird!). Lubriderm Daily Moisture Shea and Lavender Jasmine is a lotion that promises to deliver that classic Lubriderm heavy hitting moisture in a luxurious feeling and faintly fragranced formula.

By Jennifer Rose Griffin | Beauty on Shine – Mon, Dec 12, 2011 6:51 PM ESTI was feeling sluggish over the weekend. The sudden cold snap sent me into hibernation mode, all I wanted to do was stay indoors where it was cozy and warm (somewhat). While I didn't get much done in the way of running errands, I did do some cleaning (yay!) and experimented with nail polish (more yay!) to create this wintery inspired look.
I had a lot of fun creating this winter inspired nail art and I have gotten quite a few compliments on the look since. I think this is the perfect look to try for the holiday party season, the white color is a bright, beautiful background for the fun and festive sparkles. Here's what you will need.
A Opaque White Polish:
I used Revlon's White on White, $4.50
A Blue or Silver Sparkle:
I used Revlon's Whimsical, $4.50
A Clear Topcoat:
I used Sally Hansen's Dries Instantly Top Coat, $4.12

By Jennifer Rose Griffin | Beauty on Shine – Sun, Dec 4, 2011 9:23 AM ESTI never thought of myself as cynical or even skeptical, but when it comes to getting results from beauty products, I don't hold my breath. Perhaps this is just me, but when perusing the beauty section and scanning the descriptions of different creams and potions I find that the more claims that a beauty product makes, the more skeptical I become. Especially if it's of the bargain brand ilk, really it's going to do all that and it's only $8.99, doubtful.

You Better Believe It!Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry MeWhen I received Maybelline's new lip restoring balm, Baby Lips, I glanced at the hefty claims on the product and scoffed. All this and it's only $3.99, we'll see about that. So what does the product claim to do? Baby Lips promises immediate results with lips looking smoother and more supple. Lasting lip hydration for up to 8 hours. Visibly repaired lips that are less rough, more moisturized, smoother and more supple after 4 weeks of use.

Braun Satin Hairbrush - Anti damage hair brush with active ion techology
This month I had the pleasure of reviewing the Braun Satin Hairbursh for Yahoo Shine. The anti-damage hairbrush has active ion technology which smooths the hair shaft and adds shine. Instead of doing my usual write up of the product I decided to do a video review so you could see some of the features in action and judge the results yourself.

When I found out that I would be testing Venus ProSkin MoistureRich razor, I was giddy. The reason for my excitement was the razor was designed and dermatologist-tested for women with sensitive skin, that is me to a tea. Maybe there will finally be a razor that I can use, that will give me a smooth shave without all the other bother. As it is I have been using an electric shaver for the last two years because I couldn't deal with the irritation, nicks, cuts and ingrown hairs associated with a traditional razor. While the electric shaver does work, I can't get the close, smooth shave like a regular razor, not to mention it sounds like a miniature lawn mower. So does Venus ProSkin MoistureRich razor rise to the challenge, read on to find out.
First of all I have to mention the package (you know me, sucker for packaging) Venus ProSkin MoistureRich razor come in a clear bubble encasing with sea-foam greens and blues splashed about. The appearance and the colors are all evocative of aTable full of ponytails.
I have been growing my hair out for two years. The random photographs and memories in my mind are littered with images of me with long straight locks. About a year ago I made the decision to continue growing my hair to donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Beautiful Lengths collects hair donations to make real hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. On Sunday of last week, the day before I was cutting my hair, I was feeling uneasy about the change. Thoughts of "What will I look like?", "What if it looks bad, or it's too short?" raced through my brain. I understood my moment of panic, so much of our identity and confidence as women is tied to appearance. Then I remembered the women who's identity and appearance have been altered, sometimes drastically, by cancer and subsequent treatment, remembering this strengthened my resolve. On Monday I was happy to give 9" of hair (along with 32 other women and Read More »from Hair Donation Update!

In exactly one week I will be cutting my hair, now I'm not talking a trim, I'm talking nine inches lopped off at once. I will be donating my hair with a group of former co-workers to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program. While this kind of change is a little nerve-wracking I am excited by the prospect of changing up my look. In preparation for the big chop I have been scouring magazines and the internet for inspiration. In one of those internet fueled expeditions I happened on Instyle's Hollywood Makeover, an extension of their web-zine that let's you "try on" the hair looks of today's hottest Hollywood celebs. I had tried this type of hair try on before, but I thought it would be fun to record and share my results this time. My hair is naturally straight and a light brown color, but for fun and continuity I left the style the same color as the original celebrity hair. I have figured that once nine inches have been taken off my hair will be about shoulder length(maybe shorter), so I User post: Product Review: Revlon Illuminance Créme Shadow

Last week I went into the drugstore to stock up on the boring necessities, but after I finished checking off the items on my list I went over to the cosmetics to browse (of course). I was in the market for a new eyeshadow having just completed my yearly makeup bag clean out. I was browsing the eyeshadow sets, seeking for more color bang for my buck, when I stumbled upon Revlon's Illuminance Créme Shadow.
While I do remember Revlon having a cream shadow in the past the packaging looked completely different. The old packaging had an acrylic top that you could see the shadows through and a matte black plastic bottom. The new packaging is sleek shiny and sexy black. The only clear part of the case is the four User post: DIY Natural Lavender Facial Scrub

I have a wonderfully diverse group of friends who I can call on for their expertise on a myriad of topics; anything from finance, to real estate, to tattoos and beauty. One of those terrific people is Eduardo, who also happens to be a blogger and wellness guru extrodinaire. He recently posted on his blog a terrific all natural scrub recipe that is sure to polish your skin and leave you looking glowing for Spring. I really love natural beauty recipes, so I asked Eduardo if I could share it with my readers and he graciously agreed. So I would like to introduce my first guest blogger Eduardo Martinez of the blog Eduardo Life.
From Eduardo: I hope it's safe to say that winter is gone; after veiling my skin for the last months with cold weather, bright lights, dry air and public transportation air, I am ready for a deep cleansing of my skin. Scrubbing my skin is my way to polish and groom the shield that allows me to interact with the world and what better time to clean the skin thanUser post: Get The Look: Retro Beach Style For Under $150
By Jennifer Rose Griffin | Fashion – Sat, Apr 23, 2011 7:58 PM EDT
The spring in New York has so far proven to be windy, rainy and cold. While the rain beats on my windows my mind wanders to the warmer more tropical reaches of the world. What would I be wearing if I was walking the beach somewhere south of the equator? I would definitely be rocking a retro style swimsuit complete with wide brim hat and cat eye glasses. Inspired by my daydreams I went in search of affordable retro beach looks. The result is the look below, assemble for under $150 dollars. Now if only the beach vacation could be had for such a bargain.
