    • A Deadly Tornado Remembered

      I've always been a person who has been afraid of severe weather. Living where I do, you never can tell what can happen.That sort of thing always makes me nervous! I remember one time when it was just my children and I at home alone. The weather was getting worse outside. Every time I changed the channel all people were talking about was the weather. Then people started talking about tornadoes and I got nervous! You had to have seen the little fortress I built for the three of us back then. Time wasn't going by fast enough! When the danger passed, it took me forever to calm down! So far, we've had some that have come close,but thankfully not close enough to what happened in Joplin, Mo. last year. A tornado ripped through the area and killed 161 people and injuring many others. A lot of neighborhoods were simply wiped off the map. The amount of damage was estimated to be about $2.8 billion dollars. Right now the residents are trying to rebuild what was damaged in the area-the

      The Time issue where they have a three year old boy breastfeeding is not the way to portray a natural part of a child bearing woman's life.I don't understand what the point of this is at all. Are they doing this just to get attention? Most women don't breastfeed that long anyway! Well, at least no one I know of! They should have used an age appropriate baby to do this shoot. Then I don't think people would be making such a fuss about this. After all, the breast usually is a baby's life line for about the first couple of months of life.More power to women who breastfeed their babies! Especially when they have to work and use a breast pump during the day because they become painfully engorged. I feel bad when this happens when they're outdoors and there's no place to hide. Sometimes it becomes necessary to do what needs to be done so the baby gets fed-even when there are others around. What about when that boy gets older? He's going to be scarred for life-not all people agree with this
